luke's pov | my memory of you

10 years old

Luke walked into Alex's house, his hand linked with Reggie and Alex. " Hello, maam, I safely brought home your child so now can you please feed me?" He quickly let of his best friends' hands, sliding onto the tall chair to fill his plate with food.

" Oh you two are just in time to meet Alex's new little sister." Alex's mother clapped excitedly as she ran up the stairs. " Oh your parents actually went through with the adoption?", Reggie sneaked a cucumber from the kitchen counter as Alex sighed while looked for something to drink in the fridge," Yeah, my dad really wanted a girl.". He 'yes'ed to himself as he found the root ber in the back. " Guess what I found. " He raised it up and it was soon taken out of his hand by his father. " Thank you very much, Alex." He cracked it open just in time for Alex's mother and the shy little girl that hide behind her leg come down.

" Y/N, sweetheart, go ahead and introduce yourself."

" I'm nine." The little girl squished her face more into her new mother's leg, trying to hide away from the gaze of the three boys.

" Hi nine, I'm Reggie." The boy skipped over to the little girl and held his hand out. Luke watched as the little girl shied away even more from Reggie. Alex walked over," Hi, I'm your older brother." He balanced himself on his tippy toes to get a peek of (Y/C/H) girl. Luke looked down at the stuffed keroppi that hung from his backpack that a girl who had a crush on him in his class gave him. He unlatched it from his backpack and walked over to the little girl.

" Here's your welcome home gift." He held out the little frog. The girl finally peeked her head out and quickly grabbed the frog from Luke's hand. She let out giggles at the cute frog and Luke could've sworn his heart melted. But girls have cooties so he looked at the little girl in disgust before walking back to the tall seat he was in before.

The little girl followed Luke around despite his complaints.

11 years old

Luke screamed bloody murder as the tall boy pulled at his hair. " Get off him, Bobby!" Alex tried to pull the boy off the smaller one. Bobby ignored the blonde and pulled harder on Luke's hair. Luke didn't know why Bobby bullied him so much. Was it because he was smaller than an average 11 year old? What did he deserve to get pushed into the sand box like this. He heard returning foot steps who he assumed was Reggie bringing him some help. He almost couldn't breathe until he had a girl scream and then Bobby's scream next. He looked up confused to see the small little 10 year Y/N, pushing Bobby's head down into the sand. 

"Don't mess with my Lukey Poo!"

Soon, the four were seated around the little girl. Bobby's nose covered with a tissue.

12 years old

" No, stop. Don't take my candy." Luke pushed Y/N's head to keep away from the big snicker bar that he got from the most recent house they went to. " That's not fair. How do you get a big bar but I get a toothbrush?"

" Well, maybe, you shouldn't get so many cavities."

" You're the one with a missing front tooth." Y/N stomped, running after Reggie who was already two houses ahead. Luke watched as Reggie gave Y/N his kitkat that he got from the same house that Luke got his snicker from. He ran up to Reggie as Y/N went to her next victim which was her brother. " Why'd you do that?" He frowned. Reggie shrugged, " Well she was dressed in a Cinderella outfit and my mom said to always treat royalty nicely in case they give you something in return."

Hmm.

Luke pulled out the bar and went up to the girls bag, throwing it in there. He grabbed a handful of his candy and pushed it in there as well. " Fine, you can have it. Just because you're a princess.". Y/N looked down at it before placing a gentle kiss on Luke's cheek. " This is why you're my favorite prince."
