A giant-ass snake eats me alive

Percy POV

"Understood my boy?"
My father gave me a stern look while speaking this sentence. I hadn't really been paying attention to him . He had been speaking for the last two hours. I had seriously tried to focus on him , but after something like ten minutes, my ADHD had taken control and I had been lost in thought about how mermen performed ' the act '
considering that they had tails instead of lower halves .

But I knew that father was just telling me about how I was not supposed to inform anyone about me being his son. This was because any god could harm me if they knew who I was . But once I was inside camp, no god could directly harm me without the council's permission. But it wouldn't happen without a war amongst the Olympians.

Poseidon cleared his throat at looked at me expectantly. I looked at him for a second before nodding slowly. He raised an eyebrow, but said nothing.

"Also, when you reach the surface, you will be about a 100 miles from Long Island. This is to ensure that no one suspects you to be my son."

I had to agree to that. It wouldn't take a detective to figure out my parentage if I just walked out of the water on the beach at camp.

"But why so far, dad? Can't it just be like four to five miles?" I asked.

" No. This is your punishment for the Leviathan incident ." He spoke in a cold tone.

I gulped while remembering the incident that had occurred two years ago. Man, who knew a snake's insides could be so nasty and acidic.

Flashback : 2 years ago

I was on my way to my room after finishing my daily lessons with Aphros. Funny how he could teach me while weaving socks. That Ichthyocentaur was really scary when he got mad. Add to it his scary weaving needles. Ughh. Got distracted.

As I was nearing my room, I heard an argument going on in Triton's room. Now, I really appreciate personal space, but this got me really interested. I hadn't really seen anyone who could stand up to Triton in an argument, except for dad, mom and Delphin.

I quietly moved towards the door and pushed it open a little. My suspicions were proven true when I could see my dad standing with his back to me. He was facing the window, overlooking his kingdom. Triton was sitting on the bed with his hands on his lap. His eyes were closed, and he looked annoyed. Through this angle, I could see both of them, but they both couldn't see me.

After a minute of silence, Triton finally opened his eyes and spoke," I know that you think it is a minor issue, but I have a gut feeling that this is something far larger than a simple monster. Please let me go and check it out."

Dad sighed loudly and turned to face Triton. " I know that your gut feelings are rarely wrong. But, I do not think that the prince of the seas should check something minor. Also, you have some important things to do. I have a task for you ."

Triton was about to speak more, but I couldn't hear what he was saying as I heard someone approaching the room. So, I quickly backed away and acted as if I was just passing by. Two seconds later, a merman guard turned the corner and ran towards us. He gave me a hurried bow and knocked on Triton's door.

When he went inside, I moved back towards the door. I heard the guard telling dad that the issue they were talking about was not a simple monster, but the great Leviathan itself. What is this Leviathan? I thought to myself. I saw my father gain a worried look and the colour leave from Triton's face.

This was strange. Usually when he was proven right, Triton would never fail to rub it in your face. He had gained the
competitive trait from father. But now, he was uncharacteristically pale. I had never seen Triton afraid of any other sea creature. Rather he wasn't even afraid of many Olympians. Being the first child of Amphitrite, he was really strong. He was also Poseidon's second born, the first being Arion , horse son of Poseidon and Demeter.
Don't even ask me how? I can't speak about it without barfing my guts out.
