Rules, laws and norms are just meant to control and scare us. I don't know why people love to be under someone's manipulations. The "Never go that way", the "Never wear this", the "Don't eat this, don't do that", all of them are meant to grip someone by his neck. Freedom has always been the issue in every household and loving someone sometimes hurts.

"Soobin.", said the voices in my head.

"Don't come out when the clock strikes 6:00 PM. Heard of the persons who got insane after going out? They probably seen the beast that's hiding in his meek aura."

That beast has been the issue over the years. Our rules in this household and within this village says we stay at home as the clock strikes 6:00 PM coz the beast's just roaming around, waiting for the right time to attack his prey, making people lose their sanity.

"Is there really a beast?"

I asked my father beside me. I almost saw him nodding before I got distracted with a person who passed by the window. Looking at the clock, it's already 6:30 PM. Who would have such courage to go out at this hour when the so called beast is just around?

I leaned on the window and moved the curtain slowly giving my eyes some space, enough for me to see who's outside.

I haven't seen this guy before. Our village is just small, composed of 20 people, enough for every resident to recognize each face so easy. Who is he?

Through the window, I am seeing a guy who's about a hundred and eighty centimeters tall. The guy's in black hair and black suit. He looks like a prince to me, with how he managed to carry himself up to the way he fix himself. Is he really handsome or is he deceiving me? Is this the beast?

I saw him walking away but my curiosity's killing me, that I'm having the urge to follow him. But what if I go insane like the others?

Though I find it scary, my body won't cooperate to what I am thinking which is to stay inside the house. In a count of three, I pressed the door knob and went out to follow him.

I saw sitting at the bridge with the moon rising up in front of him, lighting up the place. Though I am hesitant, I managed to get close and asked him.

"Are you gonna transform to scare me?"

He looked at me and I saw his confused face registering up.

"Excuse me?"

"You're the beast right?"

"Just because you don't know, it means I am the beast."

"Then who's the beast? And who are you?"

"I am Beomgyu. Soobin, there is no beast unless you let fear overtake you."

I smirked after hearing him. Is he a stalker? He knows my name and he's deceiving me by saying there is no beast.

"I am not scared of you. I even went here to follow you."

"Poor people hiding themselves when the night comes just to obey norms. Can't you see? The night's so pretty?"

"More than being aware of your existence, I obey my parents because I love them."

"Are you talking to them up to this day?", he asked offering me some food to eat.

"Of course I'll talk to them. Aren't you talking to your parents?"

"That's creepy. Your parents died two years ago."

I froze after he said that. What is this guy talking about?

"They call me a beast coz I tell the truth to people, but the beasts are inside you. You let fear overtook you that's why you never went out of your house. How I love to be out here, distressing coz life gets more boring as days go by. You let fear overtook you coz you haven't even moved on to what happened in the past. To tell you, all the people here are insane before they could even take a step to see the moon at night. There is no other beast than yourself."

He even tapped my shoulder after he stood up from his Indian sit. Noticing him going away, I called him again.

"Where are you going?", I asked.

"Why not go home? You'll see you don't have anyone there. You're just talking to yourself making yourself a fool in your own imagination."

Seeing him drawing farther, I ran back home and called my parents by their names but no one answered. Where are they?

'Am I insane? Am I making myself believe they are still alive?"

I thrust my fist into the walls realizing I was fooled by my own fears. I was taken over with the fear of losing them that I made them live in my imagination. I'm such a fool! I hate myself for believing too much! There is no beast, I just made him true.

Beomgyu's POV.

"Are they gonna take him to the nearest mental institution?"

I heard someone talking in front of my house. I draw closer and hear them out.

"He always talks to himself and it became worse since last night. He deserves a treatment."

A deep sigh escaped my lips as I feel pity over the guy I talked to last night. How I wish everyone will realize how suffocating it is to be controlled by your own fears. Everyone's insane!
