Jannah and Jahannam are two real homes or places which have already been created. They have been created for two species of Allah's creation, (man and jinn). Both Jannah and Jahannam are created with perfection in their own state. Jannah is the world of luxury, comfort, and peace, while Jahannam is the home of misery, punishments, and hardships. Jannah and Jahannam will last forever. Those consigned to Jannah are going to stay there forever. The non-Muslims will stay in Jahannam forever, while muslims who were sent to Jahannam after serving their punishment will be taken out and sent to Jannah.
