Two pairs of feet trampled against the smooth concrete. Their steps were quick and urgent as they made their way through what Imani could only describe as an underground maze.

Dim lighting and hollow grey walls surrounded the pair as they progressed. There were round lights attached to the smooth walls, detecting their movement and lighting up at their approach only to turn off again almost immediately once they're out of range.

It had been mere minutes since they had descended into the quiet and chilly space yet it felt like hours to her. If it hadn't been for Yoongi's swift and level headed guidance, Imani knew she would have already been knee deep in a panic attack sparked by her losing her way in the modern labyrinth.

"Almost there kitten, we're getting out of here soon." Yoongi mumbled as if sensing her impatience and unease, his voice distant and senses distracted by his vigilance of their surroundings.

His head whipped in both directions at every corner they turned and after a brief pause and tug at her wrist that he held in his warm hand, they kept it moving.

Imani could hear her heart drumming in her chest. A restless energy urging her legs to move faster and the adrenaline forcing her forward despite the knowledge that absolutely anything could happen to them in that confined and unknown space.

She pushed her anxieties aside, choosing not to dwell on them in fear of slowing both of them down. She hoped that they had passed the worst of it because all she wanted to do was make it out. Get out and get as far away from Jae and her minions as possible.

Yoongi and the silent security he provided gave her that reassurance that come hell or high water, making it out in one piece was exactly what they were going to do.

"Shit."

Suddenly, her wrist was tugged sideways breaking her from her thoughts. Imani let out a squeak at the sudden motion as her body was pushed against the wall.

Yoongi's taller frame was pressed against the wall next to her, his arm suspended across the top of her chest, gently keeping her pressed against the wall as the sensor light immediately switched off.

Their bodies were pressed between two lights on the wall and simultaneously out of range for them to be detected. Imani looked over at him, her eyes adjusting to the darkness just enough to make out the movement of his index finger being pressed to his lips, signalling her to keep quiet.

She gave him a subtle nod, unsure if he could see it but she was too distracted by the tickle of her nerves trickling down the back of her neck in anticipation of what was to come. He gave her a cheeky wink in return, the arm across her chest moving away and downwards subtly as he slowly reached for what she could only assume was a weapon behind him.

Shifting her focus, her jumbled senses finally picked up what the trained man beside her had picked up long before. There was a steady tapping of shoes against the floor. It was subtle, as if the person was purposely trying to sneak around, but it was still audible in an atmosphere as silent as theirs had become.

Tap. . .

Tap. . .

Tap. . .

Imani gulped turning her neck to observe Yoongi as he evened out his breathing. He bit his lip, his eyes closing in concentration. He inhaled once, his eyes opening and connecting with hers for a split second before he pushed himself off of the wall and fired two shots to his right. A groan and the sound of a body crumpling to the floor sounded before the sensor lights even turned back on.
