"What?" Imani spluttered, her voice thick with disbelief as the single word left her lips. She stared wide eyed at Namjoon, processing his sentences and she tried to figure out if this could be a sick joke.
He sat next to her, a cringe on his face along with a look of uncertainty as he anticipated more of a reaction from her. When he received nothing but a few beats of stunned silence, he shifted in the stool.
His hands moved to rest on the marble counter as he prepared to repeat himself with the hope of this going smoothly. However, the more he stared at the girl who slowly retracted from him, the more his hope died.
"Imani you're going to have to come with us-"
"I caught that part I just... Why? Where are you taking me? You can't just expect me to agree with you wordlessly without knowing anything." She spoke out, her tone high pitched and incredulous as she stared at the man that just told her they'd be relocating.
"Its not like you have much of a choice princess, you're our hostage remember? You're supposed to do what we tell you to." Taehyung piped in cooly, an amused chuckle lacing his words as he continued to watch her outraged reaction.
He found her cute when she was angry.
Namjoon shot a glare at the younger who simply raised his hands in surrender, saying nothing more as his amused gaze settled back on the fuming girl.
The elder clenched his jaw, his hands running through his hair as he glanced at Yoongi had who returned a few moments prior to the big announcement with a laptop in his hands.
Namjoon looked back at Imani who now had a frown on her face as she stared at him accusingly. He didn't want to resort to drastic measures but he knew that if she didn't comply, he'd have no other choice.
"Imani, listen this is for the best. It's for your safety-"
"Safety?! How can I pretend to be safe in the hands of strangers? I don't know any of you, I don't know what your true intentions are!" She yelled, almost as if the realisation had just dawned on her.
Her brain was fighting within itself, a harsh tug of war between her logic and intuition. The after effects of the nightmare she had was still weighing heavily on her shoulders, the panic and sheer vulnerability that surrounded her made her feel as though she'd fall right apart at any moment.
She knew Jae would find her somehow. The longer she stayed in the country the closer her mother would get to finding her, but skipping the country with murderous strangers wasn't exactly her ideal escape plan. Even if they meant no harm and she had started letting her guard down around them, that didn't mean that she trusted them completely.
Namjoon sighed. "Imani-"
"No" She cut him off firmly. "No, I won't go, you can't make me." She said defiantly, ready to raise hell if they tried to drug her again.
Yoongi sighed, pulling the laptop he placed on the counter towards him and activating the device.
"Actually..." Yoongi began, her eyes now falling onto the redhead. There was a cold glint in his eyes, one of pure seriousness and dominance. He meant business and he was not about to be overpowered by his feelings.
