"Young female gunshot victim." The paramedic said rushing Nyla into the hospital.
"Where was she shot?" The nurses said taking over.
"Shot twice in the abdomen area." They responded.
"Okay, let's go." The nurses said taking her away.
"Wait, what's gon happen?" I asked one of the nurses.
"We have to take her into surgery. You have to go wait in the waiting room." She said before going to catch up with the rest.
I felt somebody touch my shoulder. I turned around and saw the boys. We went and sat in the waiting room. I called Micak and momma and let them know what's up. They said they were on their way.
"What did they say?" Momma asked as they walked in.
"She going into surgery," I told them.
"Daddy," Melody said reaching for me.
I reached up and took her from Micak. I sat her on my lap and hugged her. She hugged me back tightly. I kissed her forehead.
"They haven't come out and said any updates?" Micak asked me.
"Nah," I said shaking my head.
"Is mommy here?" Melody asked me.
"Yeah," I said to her.
"Can I see her?" She asked me.
"Not yet, Mel," Micak said to her.
We sat there for a long time. Melody ended up falling asleep. Micak was leaning on momma, she cried herself to sleep. I was trying to fight my tears but I couldn't.
"It's gon be okay bro," Pooter said to me.
"If you need some air, I'll hold her," Momma said to me.
"Nah, I'm good," I said to her.
"You sure?" She asked me.
"Yeah, ma. I'm good." I said wiping my face.
"Man, these doctors need to hurry up," Tweezy said huffing.
