Midoriya was assigned by Shigaraki to take out a hero from Uravity's agency. He wasn't given a specific target because it wouldn't matter, all the heroes from Uravity's agency were bright, peppy, and very popular. If Midoriya were to succeed in assassinating one of the heroes, it would be all over the media. Shigaraki said it would get people to finally stop talking about the Hero Killer, Stain, but Midoriya thought it was pointless. If Shigaraki wanted to get in the media he should just go mindlessly killing like he always does.
Midoriya huffed: Leave it to Shigaraki to make others do his dirty work.
To tell you the truth, Midoriya didn't want to assassinate any heroes. All of them had wonderful quirks that he would like to analyze, but alas, Midoriya wasn't in charge. he understood the reasoning that he does it because he was quirkless and weak so it would establish no one was safe. he saw it different if he were to succeed it might give the quirkless a chance to be heroes if they knew a quirkless runt took down a pro hero; they could take down villains.
'Ugh, how am I supposed to kill one of them anyway?'
He had gotten Uravity, herself, to go to get coffee with him, but there was something different about her. Something that made Midoriya second guess his career as a villain. He didn't know what that something was
walking to the uravity agency midoriya was debating on what he would tell her for meeting her at her work for no reason. it dawned on him just send her a text.
me: hey want to meet at Uravity's agency to go get coffee ヽ(〃^▽^〃)ノ
simple yet it gave him to be there plus she should be off by the time he gets there.
midoriya was waiting impatiently for her to come 'why has uraraka not responded'
he starts to leave 'maybe she has already headed home' he told himself 'i'll wait a little longer, who knows maybe she just stayed do have a lot to do so it won't do any harm to stay a bit longer'
a few minutes pass midoriya decide he'll just go, they could always meet up later. but just as he started to leave, uraraka came out and stopped dead in her tracks
"M-m-midoriya w-what are y-you doing h-here," she spouted. she looks just as surprised as he did
'shit, of course when she did come out she had to come now' he messed up "i-i sent y-you a text and a-asked if y-you to go get c-coffee" fumbling to grab his phone to show her the text
" but how did you know I worked here," she asked quizzically
"well i-i know my heroes pretty well and you happen to be really popular," he responded quickly "sorry if it seemed weird or stalkerish and I didn't mean it to come off that way"
"it's okay," uraraka semi-apologized "but I have my reason to believe the guy I met yesterday who just happened to be at my work. you could be a psycho trying to kill me for all I know,"
"no, that's not me," 'that's shigaraki' this had gone better then midoriya expected " well you want to go get that coffee,"
"sure" uraraka says "I need some coffee right now,"
at the cafe
midoriya and uraraka get their coffee and sit down in a booth and chat.
"um, so how are you," midoriya asks to try and start a conversation.
"fine, how about you," uraraka responds
"good" midoriya knew she wasn't fine he had learned to pick up on lying over the years; she probably didn't want talk about it to the person she just met. "well, what do you want to talk about,"
" I was wondering about how you know heroes so well," uraraka says sipping on her coffee
"I have always been interested in pro heroes and filled notebooks full of information on them," midoriya tells her " it doesn't do it as much anymore but still know them pretty well,"
"wow that's really cool," uraraka still sips her coffee " why aren't you a pro hero if you love them so much,"
"umm, I guess I never was that strong and had no chance so what's the point," he didn't want to tell her he was quirkless or she might just give up on him like everyone else " I'm perfectly fine with just watching; they do things I could never do and have incredible quirks,"
" you don't know that some make huge differences in many ways you can be a hero, you just need to try," she made it quite clear it was possible "I had classmates who used their quirks in creative ways I never imagined, and you seem pretty creative and could use your quirk in amazing ways too,"
"Thanks, I'm re-," midoriya started before being cut off from a conversation he didn't want to continue
"OCHACO," calls a pink-skinned girl, midoriya saw her somewhere but couldn't put his finger on it
"hey ochaco," the pinkie calls as she walks over "what are you doin- who's that?"
"This is my friend, izuku midoriya," uraraka tells her "midoriya this is mina, she works with me at my work,"
"that's it you're the pro hero pinky" midoriya exclaims after he finally finishes mumbling "you are able to spit acid for your quirk,"
"yep, that's me," says the bubbly mina "also uraraka is that the guy who's coffee you spilled,"
"yes he is," uraraka tells mina obviously embarrassed
" it's nice to meet you mina," confused he didn't know what else to say "well, I got to get going,"
"see ya midoriya," uraraka called
walking home, midoriya was conflicted, something was different about uraraka she made him feel as if he could be a hero but he knew that couldn't happen. but still, for a second, it was like he was 5 again with the hope he could be a hero. *sigh* he didn't want to hurt her, how could he be attached to the girl he met 5 days ago.
"I should just get some sleep," he told himself
