"Sung.."

"Yeah?"

"I miss my cats."

"Then go home and visit them," the younger spoke, working on an assignment on his laptop as his eyes stayed focused on the screen in front of him.

"I don't want to keep going home to see my pets."

"We're not getting a cat nor am I letting Soonie and Doongie stay with us."

"What?! Why?" Minho pouted, rolling over in his bed.

"Do you even know how much work a cat is? I've got my hands full with you already, kitten," Jisung turned around in his black and red gaming chair, grinning lightly at his boyfriend.

"I'd care for it!"

"You're in college, you'll be way too busy for that. We're both in college, at that."

Minho groaned in response, having to acknowledge that he had come up with solid arguments.

"If I see a stray today I'll take it as a sign of God and it'll be our cat, deal?"

"No deal! I just told you it'll probably get neglected by us since we are both so busy, you're forgetting we have jobs too. Just when, in a normal day, do you think you could feed it? When do you think you could change its litterbox? When do you think you will play with it? Don't tell me you will let the cat ruin your sleep schedule because I won't allow it," the younger spoke sternly.

"You're so mean!" Minho groaned before burrying himself under the sheets. He did think that Jisung was right, but he still felt disappointed, "but I love cats," he muttered to himself.

"I know, baby," Jisung spoke as he joined Minho in the bed, pulling his boyfriend in a gentle embrace, "but love can't make up for time you don't have."

"You're right," the older sniffled as he hugged Jisung back, burying his face in the smaller's chest.

The next day, however, Minho got roped into going to the animal shelter with Jeongin. The other wanted to look at the cats. As if it couldn't get worse. Minho was already longing for a cute cat in his lap, and looking at the creatures as they sat in their benches did not make the feeling go away. In fact, it made the feeling all the more intense. He wanted to take them home so bad. All of them.

Jeongin, as the worst friend on the planet that he is, had not stopped him from asking to hold a small kitten, expressing interest in adopting the cat. Nor did he stop him from filling out the adoption forms. Nor did he tell him to consult Jisung first. Though, Minho wanted to hit himself more than Jeongin.

It was raining. He hoped Jisung wouldn't murder him for taking a cat home under his coat. He was definitely going to have to cut back on a lot of shifts. He worked at his local fast food chain, though, and if he were to come in only twice a week he would get fired as soon as the opportunity came up to get another employee. One that could work throughout the entire week.

Shit.

Should he turn around and bring it back?

The cat meowed softly, which only worsened Minho's inner dilemma.

"Fuck," he whispered as he sped up a little to reach his apartment faster.

And as soon as he came in, hell broke loose.

"Minho. What is it that you are holding?"

Minho felt embarrassed. His cheeks were aflame. He knew better than to go against Jisung's advice.

"It's a kitty," he answered in a quiet voice, tearing up at the thought of Jisung being mad at him.

"Hey, hey, Minnie, look at me," Jisung spoke as he got closer, cupping the taller's cheeks gently, "why do you sound so sad?"

"'Cause you're going to be mad at me," Minho mumbled back, avoiding eye contact as he petted the cat in his hands carefully.

"I'm not mad, you see?"

Minho gave a hum in return, finally meeting his boyfriend's eyes.

"But I impulsively bought a cat."

"It's okay, Minnie."

"I don't want to bring it back."

"I'm not asking you to."

"But we can't care for it, you said that yourself," Minho sniffled, leaning into the right hand that had still cupped his cheek, the other hand having left to bury itself in his hair.

"Let's try. If it's too stressful, we can just bring it back to your parents. Or mine, if Soonie or Doongie doesn't like it. Whoever wants the cat. I'm sure they won't mind, your parents are already cat slaves," Jisung joked, trying to lighten the mood.

"Okay Sungie. Thank you," the older whispered as he pressed a soft kiss to Jisung's lips, the cat letting out a quiet meow as it was caged between two of their bodies.

"Yeah, yeah, you can go now," Minho carefully put the cat down, watching it with a light smile as it explored the room.

"What should we call it?"

"Hmm.."

"Ah yes, 'Hmm', the perfect name!"

"Watch me name it Dori from that one fish movie."

"That's unfair, you know I hate that character!"

"Exactly."
