The Trio

"Geez Y/N.. Wake up!" Snapped Aurelia.

"Huh??."

"You've been totally out of your head the whole morning.. What's going on?" Alice asked with a concerned expression.

Aurelia Evans was a Hufflepuff and one of Y/N's closest friends. She had long, dark chocolate brown hair (slightly curled at the ends) and unsettling, bold, blue eyes. Aurelia came from a rich pureblood family. She was the youngest and only female in the Evans' household. Therefore her parents and older brothers were always trying to protect her and keep her out of trouble. Unfortunately Aurelia liked that exact thing. She loved adventure and followed trouble everywhere. Despite the comfort she felt within the luxury of her house, she also hated the posh attitude that was required. To her, everything was fake. She wanted genuineness. To her, trouble was refreshing from her family's closed up manor.

Alice Taylor was Y/N's other closest friend. Alice had straight dirty blonde hair and calming hazel green eyes that swirled around. Her house was Gryffindor. She was also the mom of the trio in a way. Alice is a half blood (not that it mattered to Y/N or Aurelia anyway). Her dad's side is muggle and her mom is a pureblood who works in the muggle studies in the Ministry of Magic. Alice was a very bright academic student which caused her to be a favorite to many professors. Sometimes (most of the time) Aurelia came over for "help" on homework and studies.

Although the three had other friends, they weren't as close with them as they were with the rest of the trio. Everyone knew that. There was some special click between the three girls when they first met on the train and here they were in year 6, still together.

"Oh. Uhm. Nothing really.. I guess.." Y/N replied. Despite what she said, her eyes subconsciously shifted over to the other side of the hufflepuff table where Cho was standing and having a "chat" with Cedric.

"Oh.. Y/N..." Alice started to say.

But Aurelia gave Alice a look. Aurelia knew by now that Y/N didn't love pity.

"You guys didn't forget our plan to go to Hogsmeade today, did you?" Aurelia asked.

"Sorry Aurelia but what plans?" Y/N asked confusingly.

"I'm only joking." Aurelia said, as she looked at Alice, "I made them up just right now. But we're going today whether you like it or not!"

"Fine. Fine. Fine." Alice said, giving in to her friend's silly little trip.

"Alright Evans, come on. Let's go to potions now." Y/N said while pulling Aurelia up from her seat at the hufflepuff dining table.

Having potions with Snape, first thing in the morning, is a dull experience. The gloomy man with greasy hair was always grumpy for some odd reason. Which didn't exactly help any of the yawning students in that early morning class.

[ time skip ]

"Yes!! Finally done with our classes!" Exclaimed Aurelia.

"But we still have homewo-" started Alice.

"No need to remind me," Aurelia said as she faked a swoon of despair.

"You are so dramatic Aurelia.." Y/N stated as she laughed at her friend's acting.

The trio made their way to Hogsmeade and decided to get themselves a butterbeer.

"Don't look now but.. look Alice! There's Pucey over by the door!" Aurelia whisper-shouted.

"What?.." Alice said as she finally looked over to the direction Aurelia was looking in.

Alice's face started to redden as she blushed.

Pucey. Adrian Pucey. He was a popular guy with dark middle parted hair, a sharp jawline, and cold green eyes. Adrian Pucey was a Slytherin quidditch team chaser. He was a pureblood and he was attending 6th year just like them. It just so happened that Alice had taken a certain liking to Adrian.

While her friends were gushing over Adrian, Y/N found her thoughts elsewhere.

And her eyes.. on the sight of Cedric Diggory. Now all alone with Cho gone and looking like he had a bit too many butterbeers.

The way his caramel locks of hair were all messed up around and a sleazy grin placed onto his face.

It was pathetic.
Why would he be looking like that?
A couples' quarrel?
And why was Y/N feeling sorry for him?
No. Y/N couldn't allow herself to be hurt anymore but that's exactly what she did.

Y/N foolishly walked up to where Cedric was sitting.

"Ced-" Y/N had started.
"Cedric." She corrected herself. "Get up. Go back to the dorms. You look completely wasted."

"Make me." He said while smirking.

Y/N stood there shocked. She couldn't help the butterflies fluttering back up.

But she tried. After all, he was in a relationship and if he wasn't going to respect that, she would.

"I'm going to bring Chang over here if you seriously don't get up."

...

Unfortunately Cho was nowhere to be found so Y/N pulled Cedric out of his seat and ushered her friend over to help her.

And together, the three of them, Y/N, Aurelia, and Cedric, (because Alice had gone somewhere with Adrian) made their way to the charming Hufflepuff common room.

"Ugh. It stinks of alcohol in here now." Aurelia finally stated, breaking the (almost) silence.

The sound of Cedric's inhaling and exhaling filled the common room. Y/N looked down and saw how peaceful he looked while passed out.

His eyes were closed and you could see his long eyelashes. It was unfair how he had such long eyelashes and not her. Along with his usual charming smile. How does one look like that while being completely wasted.

"We should go to the dorms and leave him here. Seeming that the other students will come back soon to get prepared for dinner." Y/N said.

Aurelia nodded in response and headed upstairs to the room they shared.

Y/N was about to follow her when Cedric grabbed her arm.

"Stay here with me.. please.." He pouted.

"He probably thinks I'm Cho," Y/N thought.

"Don't leave me yet Y/L/N.. I'm sorry.."

Y/N's heart stopped. But for only a moment. How could he be saying this? Especially since he was the one who ended their spark. And above all else, he was in a relationship. Y/N respected that.
