* "I didn't want to be a wizard. What I wanted was to be normal" *
"Y/N! Get up, you'll be late for the train!" I heard my mother call me from downstairs. "What train..?" I mumbled, dreamily. "The train to Hogwarts you idiot! Get up!" I sprung out of bed. "Fuck! I forgot" I thought as I ran around my room, grabbing random clothes and throwing them on.
I ran downstairs where my mother was waiting for me in the kitchen, arms crossed. "Come on, you can eat breakfast on the way." She said, rushing to the car. I picked up my stack of books and followed after her.
I slid into the passenger seat and tried to balance my books on my lap. "Y/N, when you get to Hogwarts, you need to learn to wake up early for your classes!" My mother scolded. I shook my head and sighed. Why did my parents have to be wizards? I didn't want to leave my friends and school behind. And to think, I'd be arriving in the middle of 3rd year! "Mother, I don't know anyone at Hogwarts! Can't we just reject the letter?" I begged.
My mother shook her head but looked at me sympathetically. "It's what your father would have wanted Y/N." I slid further into my seat and gazed out the window. I didn't want to go to this stupid school. I didn't want to be a wizard. What I wanted was to be normal.
We pulled up at the train station and ran to the platform. I checked my father's pocketwatch that I kept in my pocket. 10.45 it read. "The train leaves in fifteen minutes mother!" I said. "I know love, but we need time to say goodbye." She said as she pulled me into a warm embrace. I was going to miss her. She must have saw the expression on my face, "It's only for the rest of the term, Y/N." I nodded, trying to hold back tears.
"Now, just run right at the wall, the train should be there. I'll see you soon Y/N. And stay safe! I don't want to have to send you a Howler!" She joked. I hugged her goodbye, grabbed my trolley and braced myself. "Here goes nothing" I thought. I took a deep breathe and ran straight at the wall.
Suddenly, I was on a completely different platform. "All aboard the Hogwarts express!" A large, bearded man shouted. "That must be Hagrid" I thought. My mother had told me about him. "Excuse me sir?" I asked, timidly. He looked down at me and smiled "Ah! You must be the new third year, correct?" He said, his voice booming. I nodded and he clapped me on the back. "Don't worry, you'll fit in perfectly. Just hop on board, we'll be there in no time."
I found a carriage and began to fall asleep. I woke up to the train stopping abruptly. I looked out the window and saw the huge building looming over me. Hogwarts.
