Utterson and Poole arrived to the apartment, and dear god it looked like someone had a mental breakdown. Paintings were thrown onto the floor, drawings of random people with ink spilled over them littered the front room, and words such as 'alone', 'monster', 'Bethlem' along with other insults lined the walls. A book lay on the couch.
"Poole, you go look for anyone, I'll stay here and read the journal." Utterson said. Poole nodded and quickly started looking throughout the house. Utterson walked over to the book, picking it up and flipping to the first page.

'I don't know who would read this. Utterson might.

Hi Utterson. Nosy asshole. Don't you know looking through other people's stuff is disrespectful?
No wait I can't make comments on being disrespectful. I've always done that to Henry.
But not to the upper class. They can suck my cock. I hate them. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY ARE THEY RESPECTED!!!!!!'

The page ended there. Utterson flipped to the next one.

'Today we got separated. I'm scared. I don't wanna be alone, I like being with Henry. I love him.
I think it's love. I feel something in my stomach when I look at him. GOD HE'S SO FUCKING PRETTY. I WANNA KISS EM SO GODDAMN BADLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SEE LOOK I DREW HIM—'

Next to the blurb of words, was an okay looking picture of Jekyll. Except he had an angel's halo and wings, which was strange.

'ANYWAY. I met a nice lady today too. Her name is Emma. Her dad is nice to me. I like him. His name is Victor.'

Utterson sighed. He now had a theory as to why Hyde had killed Carew.

'Today I visited Emma and her family. She has two kids, a son (Vincent) and a daughter (Victoria). Apparently Victoria's father told her that doing science wasn't lady-like. That's bullshit. I mean there's not that many female scientists as far as I know, but like,,,
What the hell you dumb mother fucker?
So I told her not to listen to the bitch. He doesn't know how to raise a daughter who'll end up changing the world for the better. So eat my dick Carew you FUCK!!!!!'

Utterson groaned. His theory was right. He skipped a few pages, and landed on the one in which Hyde murders Carew and his mistress.

'I killed them. I don't know what overtook me. She ran away after I beat Carew into the ground. I can still taste the blood... it tastes like metal..... it's good.
It makes me feel alive once again. It's beautiful in a twisted way... and it was funny to watch his whore try and explain herself. As if she were innocent. She isn't. She knew Carew was married. She knew he had kids. She knew it and yet she still... that fucking bitch deserved it! BOTH OF THEM DID!!! I'M IN THE RIGHT

am I?

No I'

The bottom half of the page was torn out. Utterson flipped through, trying to look for it, but he figured Hyde tore it off. He flipped to another page.

'I had a dream. It was weird, because it was just a memory of me experiencing snow for the first time. I heard Jekyll's voice again. God his voice... I wanna hear it for hours on end, even if he's talking about pointless shit. It feels.. warm. Like you're safe. He makes me feel warm. I like it.. but he doesn't like me or my voice. But does anyone? It's weird and raspy, and sounds like I'm fucking sick. Maybe I am sick. I don't know.'

'I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM I MISS HIM

WHY DID WE SEPARATE.
I WANNA SEE HIM AGAIN.
I HATE THIS.'

'It's been so long since I saw Henry. My heart hurts everytime I think of him. I wanna be held by him so badly. I want him to tell me everything's gonna be fine.'

At the bottom of the page, Hyde had drawn a bunch of pictures of himself and Jekyll. Utterson felt a bit of pity. Hyde was never shown love, and he probably only learnt of it through the romantic novels and poems Jekyll read in highschool. Utterson sucked in a breath, flipping to the last few days.

'I AM JUDGEMENT! I AM JUDGEMENT! THESE HIGH CLASS MEN WILL BURN WITH ME!!! I'LL DRAG THEM INTO THE DEEPEST, DARKEST PITS OF HELL!!!!!!!! HHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHA'

A giant ink blob ruined the rest of the page. Utterson swallowed thickly flipped to the next one.

'I sold the HJ7 to many people. I called it true freedom. I made Lanyon buy one too. I like his Hyde.

wait

His name was William Mortacai. He was creepy but I liked him.
Unfortunately Lanyon succumbed to his illness. Which meant I didn't get to be around Mortacai for long. But I liked him.'

'It's been so long since I've seen him. I need.. I need to hear his voice before I die. Maybe he could

Talk me

Out of it

Could he?

Would he?
Or would he

Push me out a window and watch me die?

I think it's the latter.

He doesn't care.

But I love him so much.'

That was the end of the journal. Utterson sighed. As much as Hyde wasn't a good person, he was as human as anyone else. And maybe, just maybe, Hyde had a point. Maybe he was right about everything.
"Mr. Utterson?" Poole called.
"Oh— Yes, Poole?" Utterson looked over at the other.
"No one else was here. What do we do now?" He asked.
"Help with funeral arrangements. I'll contact everyone Hyde knew, and you can help with getting a gravestone and such ready." Utterson explained.
"... Will they be buried together?" Poole asked.
"Um... In a sense. I'll show you my plans once I inform Hyde's... family of what happened to him." Utterson stated. Poole nodded and quickly headed out to get a start on that. John, however, lingered. His thoughts drifted to Hyde. He wasn't so bad... and he even said they could have gotten along.

He took one last look at the flat, before leaving it forever.
