Leah's pov
I walk down the stairs slowly, smelling breakfast. I turn the corner to the kitchen to see Jord alone, reading.
"Where's Ethan?"i ask.
"He left."Jord responds.
"W-what?"i ask.
"He left. I told him that you and I had talked about it, then I opened the door and he left, without a second glance."he says, picking up his coffee cup.
"N-..no..Ethan wouldn't do that..he wouldn't leave without saying goodbye."i say quietly.
"I'm sorry love. But as I told you before, people aren't as they seem."he says.
I stumble a bit. That's not true. That can't be true. Ethan wouldn't just leave me..would he?
"Come have a seat, Leah."he says.
I slowly walk over and sit down next to him. There seemed to be something different about him today. He looked upset.
"I know Ethan leaving seems like a bad thing. But, think of it this way: he's only growing up."Jord says sadly picking at his food.
He seemed genuinely upset that Ethan had left. I put my hand on his and he glances up at me.
"Just growing up."i smile.
He slightly smiles.
"Leah, I don't want you to think I'm a bad person anymore. Tomorrow you'll be 7 months pregnant. We..we just need to forget our childish differences, just for a bit. That's all I ask."he says, sounding as if he was on the verge of tears.
Christ, the chap is a mighty fine actor. Luckily so am I. I stand up and cup his cheeks, lifting his head a bit. Then I place a soft kiss against his lips.
"Okay."i say softly as I pull away.
His smile widens a bit as I sit back down, picking up my fork. Then he looks around,
"Oddly quiet in here this morning, isn't it?"he says.
I look around, noticing that there were no guards walking around like usual.
"That is strange.."i say.
He stands up.
"Come with me."he says.
I stand as well, following behind him. He walks out into the corridor, and looks down both sides of the long hallway. Still no guards.
"What the hell? Gabriel!? Charles?!"he calls out.
No response. We walk down the hall towards a room. He stops, pushing the door open. Inside the room is what looked like a security office. Cameras facing down the 2 main halls and all entrances. A lone guard sat in the room.
"Max, where's everybody gone?"Jord asks, stepping into the room.
He doesn't respond.
"Answer me."Jord demands, walking over to Max.
He hits max in the shoulder and Max does nothing.
"Oi. Mate."Jord says, shoving him again.
This time his head falls back, and Jord steps back in disgust. Max's throat had been slit from one side to the other.
"Sloppy."Jord says, unimpressed.
He turns to me.
"Seems we've been paid a visit during the night."he says.
"By whom?"i ask.
"I've got a feeling."he says, walking out of the room.
"Would you mind heading up to your room, Leah?"he asks.
