Leah's pov
I watch as Sugar anxiously shakes his leg, he was holding a sleeping Dylan against his chest. Cole was in surgery, having a gastrostomy tube placed. I grip his arm and he genuinely jumps before looking over at me.
"Are you okay baby?"I ask.
He stiffly nods before adjusting the sleeping boy in his arms.
"He's gonna be okay."i say.
"I would know that if I was performing the surgery."He huffs, making me chuckle.
He kisses Dylan's head and I smile.
"Sugar. I've been meaning to ask you something."I say softly, not wanting Dylan to hear.
Sugar gives me his full attention and I lean.
"I've noticed your tics are flaring up, Sug."I say.
This makes him roll his eyes.
"Can we not talk about this around Dylan?"he asks, his accent particularly aggressive.
"Babe, you can go out if you need to. Hell, it's been 3 years."i say.
"That's behind me now, Leah. I don't wish to speak about it anymore."He says.
"Okay."I shrug.
It's quiet for a moment, then I hear him huff.
"I don't want to fight with you. We never fight."He says.
"Every couple fights."I chuckle.
"What happens if I do start up again? There's no one paying me. No list of recipients. Just murdering to murder."he says.
I chuckle.
"You're the only one left, Sug. There's only one thing you can do."I say.
"Which is?"
"Become the leader."
......
I smile as I watch Sugar change Cole's diaper. We were spending the day at the park, getting the boys used to being outside
"Father looks so good on you."I say.
"Doesn't it?"he asks, gently picking the baby up and setting him on his feet on the ground.
Cole giggles, making baby noises as he wobbles towards his brother.
"Ethan's on the phone for you baby."I smile, handing Sugar the phone.
"Hello?"he questions as he steps into the kitchen.
I watch as he walks a few steps away from the boys to talk. Dylan was more lively than Cole, as per usual. He was wondering towards the swings. I could still see him, so I wan't worried.
....
Dylan coos as he wobbles towards the low set swings that were meant for babies. He gets there, looking back at his mum before pushing one of them and giggling.
"Hey little fella."A soft and comforting voice coming from behind the jungle gym, where the man was sitting.
"Look at you. You look just like your daddy, don't you."The man smiles.
The baby coos with a 2 toothed smile, stumbling a bit.
"Do you think he would remember my mother?"The man asks, his smile ding down a bit.
The baby doesn't respond with actual words. The man opens his arms and the baby smiles, walking towards him.
...
Leah's pov
I smile as Sugar chuckles over the phone. I then look back over to where Dylan was, and notice he was gone.
I instantly stand.
"Sugar."I panic, getting his attention.
He turns to me.
"Where's Dylan?!"I panic, running to where he was.
Sugar picks up Cole, joggining over to where I was to help me look. He wasn't anywhere around, and I begin to sob.
"Dylan!?"I call out.
"Excuse me."I hear a soft voice behind us, and Sugar and I both turn towards it.
"Does this little buggar belong with you?"an attractive young man, holding little Dylan on his hip.
"Oh my god!"I huff, running over to him.
He gently hands the baby over into my arms.
"Thank you, oh god."I whimper, pressing my lips to Dylan's cheek.
He was a young fellow, oddly familiar, but I couldn't place it. He couldn't be more than about 15.
"He wondered over there, walked right up to me and whined out like a squirrel."He explains.
"Thank you so much mate"Sugar says. offering a handshake.
"Gregg."The boy smiles.
"Sugar, this is my wife Leah, you've already met little Dylan, and this is Cole."Sugar explains.
"Can we buy you lunch?"I offer.
"Oh, no need. I've got to get home."Gregg chuckles.
"Can we at least give you a ride?"Sugar asks.
"I appreciate it, I have a ride already."He smiles.
He then turns, walking away. Dylan whines and makes grabby hands towards Gregg, and Sugar smiles at me. I shrug.
"Hey, Gregg!"Sugar says.
Gregg stops, turning around.
"Fancy a job, mate?"Sugar asks.
Gregg smiles.
