Leah's pov

I chuckle as I listen to Harry rant about his feeling for the first time in my life.

"If your so excited about him, why can't I know his name yet?"i smirk.

"Because the dinner thing."He explains.

"Next week at dinner he'll introduce himself, you just have to be patient."He chuckles as he leans back.

"Going to check on Ethan."Sugar calls from the kitchen before walking out.

"I'm happy you found someone Harry, I can't wait to meet him."I chuckle.

Suddenly, the doorbell startles both of us.

"You stay, i'll get it."Harry says before I could stand.

He jumps up from the couch and half jogs to the door, pulling it open.

"Um. Yes?"Harry says.

"Where is my uncle?"A boyish voice asks, an accent similar to Jord and Sugar.

I quickly stand up, walking to the door. I see a boy wearing dark glasses, in his hand was a harness handle connected to one of the largest, scariest dogs I had ever seen.

"Hi puppy!"I coo at the dog, making it's tail wag.

The boy remains serious.

"Are you Leah?"he asks, tilting his head to the side.

"I am. You are?"i say, folding my arms.

"My father wouldn't stop talking about you."he says as if he was annoyed.

"Your father?"I question.

"Yes, my father Jord. And now I'm here looking for my uncle, Stephen. Know'em?"he says.

Harry nudges me with his elbow and I look at him. He waves his hand in front of the boys face a few times, then repeats the motion using both hands. The boy stays motionless and silent.

"You are an asshole."He finally speaks, making Harry instantly drop both of his hands.

"Are you gonna let me in?"he turns his head towards me and I look up at Harry.

Harry shrugs. Suddenly, Sugar walks up behind us.

"Oh gross, and eboy. I thought the virus wiped you out."he says quietly.

"Funny. So funny."the boy responds, emotionless.

I look up at Sugar and he huffs.

"Guys. This is Noen. Currently my only living nephew."He says.

"Lucky me."Noen responds as we step out of the way.

His dog leads him into the house and towards the living room. I angrily look at Stephen.

"I know, I know you don't want anything to remind you of Jord, but the kid is half blind, and he's only staying for a few days-"I cut him off.

"If anything happens while this kid is here, you'll be sorry."I say, walking past him.

"Threat or promise?"

"I thought he only had one kid."I say, folding my arms.

"3"Sugar corrects.

"What?!"

"He probably had more than that, he just kills them off if they don't turn out to be what he wants them to be."Sugar says quietly.

"Oh my god."My hands naturally go to my pregnant belly, thinking about what could've happened to them if we weren't rescued.

"He really is a nice kid. I called him over to help with Ethan."Sugar says, running his fingers through his hair.

"You really thing putting Jord Liddell's son in a room with the brainwashed boy is a good idea?"I say, folding my arm.

"Kid has a story to tell."Sugar shrugs.

"Oh my god."I huff, walking away.

....

Ethan's pov

"Wake up."I hear Sugar's voice.

I wheeze, blood rushing to my swollen face as I sit up.

"It reeks of blood in here."an unfamiliar voice says.

I sit up and turn around, rubbing my eyes. I see Sugar standing next to a tall boy with dark sunglasses over his eyes.

"What's all this about?"i ask before clearing my throat.

"I heard you lost an eye."The boy says.

"So what?"I question.

Sugar positions the man in front of a chair so he could sit down. He huffs as he takes off his glasses. I'm almost revolted by the sight of his eyes. A singular slash mark across his face. And then scarred flesh, as if the skin around his eyes had been melted. The eyes themselves were a milky blue color.

"So you lost an eye yeah?"he says, folding his arms.

"Who's fault was that?"

I roll my eyes.

"My dad-"he cuts me off.

"Bullshit. Was your dad there to pull out your eye? Did he wield the spoon?"The boy chuckles.

"That's not the point."i say.

He points to his face.

"My dad was there."he says, his lips pressing together in anger.

My throat goes dry.

"Tell me Ethan. What is the proper punishment a child should receive for not following instructions?"he asks, his voice shaking with emotion.

"I-i don't know."i say.

"One might assume a 13 year old would get a stern talking to. Maybe a spanking. But no."he says.

"Please, I-i don't want to know."I say, turning away.

"My father. Jord Liddell. He forced my older brother to hold me down. And he dripped acid into my eyes Ethan. And then he threw me out a window. My father did that to me."He says.

"And you. Your upset because you couldn't hear. Because you simply lost an eyeball. Are you happy you killed your father?"

I try to hold back my tears as he looks at me with his pale dead eyes.

"Are you happy with what Jord has turned you into?"

"Please stop."I whimper.

"I understand that you think what your father did was wrong. But if your looking for a better one to take after, my dad isn't it kid."he laughs.

He then stands.

"Anyway. Sugar is good people. You wanna take after someone, take after him. Minus all the cold blooded murdering stuff, you know. Help me out here."he says, reaching out for Sugar as he puts his glasses back on.

Sugar helps him back to the stairs, turning back to me before walking out.

"If you think you've learned your lesson, you may come up."he says before walking out of the cellar.
