"Why is he so pale? Isn't he happy that he's marrying me?" Mark sighed as he was helped to dress. Jeno had not been himself, the wedding was rushed, the friends were suspicious and curious as to why.
"He's sick." Jeno let out the breath he didn't know he was holding.
"That's something we've always known Jeno." Jaemin sighed at the dark haired boy.
"No. You guys only knew part of it. The more he is exposed to the sun, his brain would contract, his skin literally burns down and........ he'll eventually die. He's not going to live long." Jeno whispered trying very hard not to cry. Marks heart tightened, his whole existence freezing. It was the same for everyone there, including Johnny.
Haechan looked terribly pale, his lips were the colour of his skin itself, Darli though small she knew something was wrong with her owner. She kept staring at the gorgeous bride. The youngers arms shook, he could barely hold his bouquet. Was he doing the right thing? By ruining Marks life? What if he died soon?
"It's time. Let's go baby bear." Taeil whispered as he gave his arm so his son could loop his arm through his.
Mark wiped his tears, the doors opened, revealing the most stunning bride ever to exist, such a graceful presence, dress in a white tuxedo and a veil over his beautiful face. He smiled so contagiously everyone in the crowd smiled with him. As he was handed over to his soon to be husband, the older instantly hugged him tightly.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Mark whispered his voice breaking. Haechan gasped looking at Jeno who shrugged looking away.
"I'm sorry." Haechans lips quivered, Mark pulled away as the vows were said to start.
Mark stared at this ethereal beauty, burdened with a disease that only one in a million had, indeed his Donghyuck was a one in a million boy, yet the fear of loosing him scard him to the core of his heart. Will staying inside save him? Would hiding him from this world keep him alive? He didn't know. How could XP be so dangerous?
"M-Mark?" Haechans voice snapped him out of the dream. His fingers stretched out happily to wear his wedding band.
The ring was slipped on, and so was Marks ring adorned in his, Haechan felt a wee hurt for his now husband seemed to be lost in thought and didn't really realize what he happened to be doing. When they were announced as Man and wife, the older hesitated first then pecked the beauty's chapped red lips.
"A-Arent you happy?" Haechan whispered with a soft smile as he looked up at Mark.
"I'm very happy that you are finally mine. Legally I mean but I'm mad that you hid something so important from me? Why? Didn't you feel the need to let the guy you love know your health conditions?!" Mark snapped sternly, he was angry.
"Mark don't be mean to him!" Jaemin hissed immediately hugging the shaking boy.
"He's hurt Nana. You can't be mad at him either." Jeno shook his head with a sigh. Yang Yang remained silent the whole day.
Chenle wiggled to be with his hyung, Haechan was more than happy to carry the baby around in the darkness, the only time he could roam freely. Perhaps the only time he can ever above about. Something had been lost at night as the couple headed to "The Resonance." Left alone with each others presence, Grandma staying at Johnny's for a while.
"Please don't be mad. I'm so sorry I didn't want you to be like this." Haechan whispered as they went into their decorated room.
"How can I not be mad?! You knew this would happen! Then why did you bask in the sun every day knowing that it would lead you to death?!" Mark shouted at the boy making him flinch and shiver.
"Because I thought I'd one day get used to it. That one the sun would love me back!! I always knew I was going to die, Everyday I woke up it was like a gift. I was ready to leave without any regret but the day I saw you I knew I could not die in peace! I loved you the day you stood at your balcony that summer morning, I suddenly wanted to live for you, to hold on for you. I joined you guys so I could see you even if you liked Jaemin. I pushed you away when you started liking me back because I was afraid you would break if died. Mark the six months you gave me weren't my healing time. I fought for my life every day, I was already quarantined in my room but thankfully you wanted time. I ran all the way to the airport, since I wanted to see you so badly. My brain wasn't functioning anymore......I wanted you. I love you like crazy. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me!!" Haechan screamed, he cried, he literally balled his eyes out.
"I can't watch you die. Teddy Bear I love you so much." Mark cupped his wife's chubby bruised cheeks.
"I won't if you hold onto me a little tighter." The younger hugged the olders neck.
"Then let's be that couple that tries really hard to be together. Why did this have to be the wedding gift I get?" Mark looked away with a broken smile.
"I'm still your best ever wedding gift." Haechan giggled. "That is if you want to unwrap me. I'm not good enough Ummm......." The older lifted his jaw and smashed their lips together.
"I'm unwrapping you." Mark pushed his wife on the bed gently and hovered him.
"Don't cry so much Simba. Hyuckie bear will be sad. I'm going be here with you for a very long time." The younger whispered, as tears slipped down the edge of his eyes.
"I love you." Smiled Mark as he kissed the pale, quivering lips, those stubby shaking arms held tightly inside his small strong warm ones.
