"My lord...do you actually plan on keeping that woman here?" Akio asked.
"Yes, is there a problem?" I responded, Akio shook his head vehemently.
"No of course not! I just-"
"Do you doubt my judgement?"
"No! I would never doubt you my lord! I'm sorry I brought it up." He responded. I understood his doubt it's not like I hadn't been affected by another woman before, but Ritsu was different than Nanami. There was no way I would let myself be swayed by her, after all she had that one named Greg constantly on her mind. For some reason the very thought irritated me.
"Jiro." A voice rang out as Akio opened the door. Inside sat Hishi with 2 others; on his right was Tamaki a tall man with an above average build. Although he looked intimidating he was incredibly weak at least by my standards. On his left was Dai, he was smaller than both Hishi and Tamaki but was the most clever. Hishi was a combination of both these idiots.
"Hishi, to what do I owe this displeasure." I grunted as I went to sat down in front of our guest.
"Come now Jiro we're friends aren't we? Can't a friend come see how his friend is doing." He smirked mockingly.
I glared at him the way he repeated the word friend over and over again made me want to pull his tongue out.
"I never considered us friends. Now out with it, what do you want?"
"Hmph you're as rude as ever." Tamaki said. I shifted my gaze from Hishi to Tamaki.
"That's rich coming from a couple of bastards who came here unannounced."
"Now, now" Dai commented attempting to diffuse the time bomb that was sure to explode. "Let's not forget why we're here." He said pointedly looking at Hishi.
"Ah yes, we've received word of two humans coming this way, you wouldn't know anything about it would you Jiro?" He asked tilting his head slightly. I maintained my cool gaze and shook my head.
"Why would I care?"
To which he responded. "You see that's interesting because I remember we had a clear contract. Any human, especially a female, is to be handed over to the Tengubi clan in return we don't meddle with your brother Kuramas affairs."
"That contract was signed by the third chief if you have a problem with it why bring it up with me? I can go get him if you'd like."
"Such disrespect!" Tamaki shouted "Are you saying you're not going to honor your chiefs contract?!"
At that I rose to my feet and started towards him, with one hand I grabbed his collar and with the other I caved his face in. Hishi and Dai stared in disbelief.
"I will not allow you to walk in here demand information and insult my loyalty to the chief. I did not sign that contract, nor did I promise anything. I do not fear you insects, try to come at me or any of my brothers and I will crush you like the bugs that you are."
"How dare you-"
"Jiro!" A voice resounded behind me. I turned to see the third chief Soujoubou, quickly bowing I apologized for my rude actions in his presence. "Lift your head and take your leave we will meet to discuss your actions later."
I nodded and excused myself. I could hear the chief apologizing then lecturing the three idiots as I closed the door. Hishis words rang through my head 'especially a female' an unknown rage filled me and I decided to go to the sparring grounds. I should get Ritsu out of here, who knows what those idiots might do and I didn't want the Soujoubous good name to be tarnished. As I reached the training grounds I could hear a commotion already starting.
"Again sister!" A voice sounded. I looked to see Ritsu sparring with the younger kids they flew at her with murderous intent yet she managed to evade them all, even knocking a few out. I smiled she was indeed skilled, it was a shame she would have to go.
"Lord Jiro!" Yuki shouted as soon as he saw me. I waved at him to ignore me and he continued with his training, Ritsu was so focused she didn't even notice me. Her long hair swayed as she moved from each position, at one point one of the kids grabbed hold of her arm but she managed to get away fairly easily. Soon all the kids were tired out lying motionless on the ground yet there stood Ritsu looking fearsome, she was like an angel of destruction.
"How long are you going to stare?" Her voice broke me from my trance I looked away, embarrassed that I had been staring for this long.
"What are you talking about?" I mumbled
"My, my, Lord Jiro are you embarrassed?" She teased. I turned to face her.
"What are you-" She was so close her face mere inches from mine. Her brown eyes stared into mine as if they could peer into my very soul, I could count how many eyelashes she had she was so close...but I didn't want her to move, in fact I wanted to grab her then and there, to take her before she had to leave forever.
"Jiro?" Again her voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "You ok? You look out of it, maybe you should lie down."
"It's...It's nothing." I turned to leave but she grabbed ahold of my sleeve.
"It's not nothing, let me walk you to your room at least." I froze at her words, how could this woman be so careless? My mind jumped back to Hishi, the Tengubi clan was mostly honorable but when it came to humans they couldn't care less. They treated them worse then animals, treating them like toys for their amusement. As soon as they were done they would release them with some sort of illness and watch them eventually die trying to get home. I gritted my teeth and took hold of Ritsus arm turning to her angrily.
"Are you so naive you don't know what happens when a woman is left alone with a man?" I growled. She looked taken aback from my statement then frowned.
"First." She yanked her arm from me a bit of anger in her demeanor. "Don't touch me as you please, second I know you won't do that and if you ever do I'll just kill you." She smiled at the last statement and I don't know why but that made me laugh. Her confidence gave me reassurance that no matter what she was going to be ok. So why should she leave? I looked at Ritsu she looked surprised at my laughter, maybe it was her smile or the way the sun was setting but she looked more beautiful then anything I'd ever seen and I was not going to lose her.
