Child of the Light and the Void- A Hollow Knight fanfic

Prologue

Since the defeat of the Absolute Radiance by the new Lord of Shades, she no longer had her Godly form. She could only give the rest of herself and her powers to her SOUL heir. A long forgotten truth that was hidden away from all those who defied the Radiance and her power and from the Radiance herself. Only, this heir was born during a time when both the Radiance and the Void, or the first Lord of Shades, was in peace with each other. In love with each other in fact! It was a time where the Radiance was known as Lusollia and the Void was called Dracronos. They were one of the first beings that God had created and once they had mastered their given powers, they had earned the titles of Guardians of Elements by God Himself. But the other bugs saw them as more than that. They saw them as actual Gods and they had created civilizations based on their factions of elements. Soon the power and glory went to Lusollia's head and started to believe that she really was a Goddess. Dracronos was no better. But soon their egos came to a head and the once loving relationship that they had, became a bitter rivalry with each other. Both claimed that the other was superior than the other. 

Their child, still only a small light of existence at the time, was caught in this war of egos. Both parents claimed that they alone could raise their child by themselves. Disgusted with both of his followers and their followers, for their sins, God punished them accordingly. Both factions hidden away in the confines of the earth or what is now called, Hallownest. The light faction only a few layers above where the dark faction laid. The Abyss. The birthplace of where God had created Dracronos, or the Void, in the first place. Both "Gods" were sealed underground in Hallownest and their once precious child was sealed away somewhere else. And even if the child were to be unsealed, their powers were to be locked away till the day that their mother will perish and the child will then become the new Guardian of the Light.

The reason the child wasn't destined to be the next Void was because the child was too bright and full of cherished love and innocence to be something so dark. In a last stitch effort, the Void pleaded with God for, when the time comes, there will be someone worthy enough to take his place and make things right again. The Lord seeing the Void finally learned of his mistakes, granted his wish. He proclaimed:

"When your followers have all but perished and the future may seem bleak, a Pale King shall emerge with his White Lady into your domain. He shall ask you to spare your power unto him and his Queen in the form of new life to defeat the Hive Mind, The Radiance. His goal: to free his Hallownest's citizens from her control and have a free will of their own. And if you should take on his plea and give your power life of its own, then they shall be your successor of darkness."

But the Lord also added:

"But promise me this my dark son. That when the time comes, and you do good on your word, let the Light love the Darkness once more to let the harmony of this world continue."

The Void thought through on this one and agreed, but on two terms. That he be with the Radiance once again when her downfall was made and to be guarding his love and his child through the shadows of life in this world in the form of the child's own powers of darkness.

It was then that all was made as a pact of destiny that grew in the darkness of which was Hallownest. And for those who played the game and know its lore, the Hollow Knight was sealed with the Infection along with the Radiance. Along with the three Guardians, or Dreamers, of the Hollow Knight for the Infection to remain dormant. And as we all know, The Knight and some of his other siblings escaped the Abyss and somehow, he managed to leave Hallow Nest completely, feeling that his job was done. But everyone wants to know WHERE he went during the time the Radiance was dormant.

Well that my dear readers is where our story begins.
