An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the gods.
On this eleventh day of the eleventh month, we remember. We remember the end of a long-past conflict between nations, we remember soldiers fallen on the battlefield of forgotten wars.
On this same day, we also celebrate the art of folding paper. November 11th is Origami day.
For the occasion, we want to mix the prayer to the gods with our effort to perpetuate the memories of lost loved ones in a new contest.
The rules are simple. We want you to write a story based on the following prompt:
As you wake up today on the anniversary of your loved one's death nearing Remembrance Day, you peer outside open balcony window to see dozens of origami animals fly in the window amongst the blossoming flowers flowing in the wind.
💮 Your story shall not exceed 2000 words.
💮 Your story needs to be newly written for this contest.
💮 Once you have written your story, publish it in your profile, either in a new story or as a chapter in an existing anthology.
💮 Please, submit your story via this form. You may also want to post the link to your story in the comment section below.
💮 Please, make sure your story follows Wattpad content guidelines.
💮 The deadline for this contest is December 11th, 2020.
