"It's not like that." She paced the room.
"What's not? What I saw was pretty clear." I wave my hands threateningly at her to make her feel like she was the crazy one.
"I don't know, it's just not like that!" She shot her hands up in frustration. Her voice raised a degree, making me cringe. There were people that lived outside my apartment and could hear us-- some even word for word.
"So I didn't see you stab the man in the alleyway at 2:15 pm today? You didn't take his blood and write out a threatening message on the brick wall? You didn't gouge out his eyeballs and rip off his other balls?!" Every question made me more furious, yet I did not raise my voice. I did, however, raise the urgency in my voice. "Need I continue?"
"Okay. So, maybe I killed a man. No big deal? People kill other people every day without getting punished." I clearly knew too much for her comfort because she reached behind her and the next time I saw her hand, she held a knife. She was going to do the same thing she did to the other man if I didn't stop her soon.
"At least tell me why you did it." My hands were shaking even though I could take her on. The problem was I didn't want to take her on. We've been close for so many years.
"He wanted me to cheat on us." She waved her knife between her and me. I didn't flinch. I couldn't. I was frozen in my spot.
"You killed a man for wanting to cheat on us." I forced myself to walk closer to her and her knife. I placed my hand around her kneck, and she placed the tip of her knife on my gut, tense, and ready for action. "Atta girl."
I killed her and I kissed her deep. She dropped the knife and kissed me back. Then, she said, "I would never cheat on you. Never."
The rest was history.
Hey! there's a lot more of where this came from. I wrote like... 30 of them last night (don't tell anyone I stayed up til 2 doing that lol). I just have to transcribe them onto the computer. :D
