|Kyara's POV|
I woke up around twelve in the morning, I looked out my window, it was snowing lightly tonight.
Leaving frost on my window; I couldn't sleep. I wasn't even tired, so I got up and snuck downstairs. The living room was dark and empty, I slipped on my black vans, not changing from my pjs, and emerged out from the house. It was cold, but I could handle it.
I mean, yeah I'm wearing a thin see through blouse with only my white bra, and a black skirt but whatever. I soon found myself wandering in the forest, watching the small brightly lit bugs fly around me.
The full moon shone through the blanket of leaves, dangling from branches above me. I saw a couple owls in the trees as well, I held up my finger, like how bird care takers do.
An owl flew onto my finger, gripping it with its little feet. I pet the innocent birds head with the back of my index and middle finger with the other hand. The owl had brown and white feathers, and big yellow eyes. It was small and fragile.
By the look of it, it looks maybe a couple months old. Knowing that I was a friend to all animals, the owl stayed with me, almost as if I were it's garden. Like it didn't want to leave.
"Where is your mother mate?" My australian accent whispering through the wind. The owl huddled closer, and the wind blew into my face, nearly knocking me to my back.
I felt an unwanted presents near us, like I was being watched by something evil and wild eyed. "Ello, is anyone there..?" I asked, taking in every detail around me, until my eyes landed on a pair of red, blood shot eyes. "Are...who are you?" I shuttered over my words, holding the infant bird closer to me. Out came the red eyes, but only to reveal a bat. I sighed in relief until the bat had a black, sparkly mist circling around it.
I forced my feet backward, slow at first, until the bat formed into a boy a little older than myself. Then I sprinted off, back home. Still with the baby owl in my arms, I ran around the corner and into the house, locking the door but also slamming it closed.
"Huh..?" I heard one of my best friends, Isaac Frye, groan while foot steps came down the steps. "Damn it." I huffed under my breath, once I couldn't figure out anywhere to hide, I let go of the bird, letting it fly onto a beam on the ceiling and braced myself for embarrassment, mostly because of my pjs.
The light turned on and Isaac emerged from the stairway, his eyes landing on me and his hair sticking up in every direction. I always thought he looked cute with his hair like that.
My breathing was still heavy from running about 3 miles to get here, he was mostly staring through my see through shirt, where I'm only wearing a bra underneath. I folded my arms over my chest, not blushing at all. Literally, it's impossible for me to blush. He shook his head and looked in my eyes.
"Um, what're you doing down here..?" He broke the slince, I really wish he hadn't.
"I couldn't sleep." I fibbed, well yeah I couldn't sleep but I'm not telling him I was in a forest where I saw a Vampire emerge right infront of me while holding an owl.
"Okay, why did the door slam then?" He asked and went to the kitchen and got himself a glass of milk, with ice. Classic Isaac.
"The door opened from the wind so I closed it, but a little too hard." I replied with total ease; you're all probably think I've been through this before, which I have but not all in the same situation. He poured another glass of milk and put a purple bendy straw in the glass cup then gave it to me.
I smiled and laughed at his inner child that still gives me bendy straws and sipped the milk, finally catching my breath.
I glanced back at my little furry friend who was still on the beam, but it stayed quiet until he or she knew that it was safe to come down. I thought for a moment, then coming to the solution that the owl was in fact a boy. "So what do our 14 year old brains wanna do sense we can't sleep?" Isaac suddenly perked up out of nowhere. He can't sleep either?
"Um, actually I-"
"What the hell are you two doing up so late?!" Cierra cut me off while rubbing an eye and emerging from down the stairs. "Um we couldn't sleep." Isaac replied. "Yeah, sure. Now go to bed." She was clearly not in the best mood right now, so me and Isaac obeyed and went to our separate rooms.
I closed the door and then snapped my fingers really quick, making the owl appear back on my finger, setting him on a little place I have set up for the night, I climbed in bed then fell asleep, having probably the best dream that would probably never exist in reality, just in my mind...
