Panting heavily, Remus felt himself heave with the pain in his chest. He paced Dumbledores study anxiously, wringing his hands almost painfully. Not even glancing at the portraits on the walls who were giving him curious stares.

'I've got to get to him.' He thought, almost hungrily, wanting anything for the pain to leave him. 'I've got to get to Harry.' Remus hadn't felt like this since James.. well since James and Lils had left him. Since they were taken from him. Snatched away by death himself. He squeezed his eyes tight shut and pushed the thoughts of them out of his head. That was for another time. He needed to focus, he just KNEW there was something wrong with Harry. He'd felt this indescribable pain once before when Voldemort cast the killing curse on his brother, then on his little cub. He felt it even though he was miles away, underground with the other wolves. Each of them confused as the the pained howl he'd let out unexpectedly at the very moment James body touched the floor. Remus took a deep breath, he'd been waiting for Dumbledore for almost ten minutes now, that was ten minutes too long. He had to go himself. He'd promised himself he wouldn't, couldn't see his cub, because he wouldn't be able to let him go again but he had to make sure he was okay.

Trying to steady his breath, Remus rushed over to the grand fireplace and reached a hand out shakily to the floo powder. 'You can do this, you can see him again. Just once. You can do this' he muttered to himself, grabbing a handful of powder. He cleared his throat, straightened his back and set his face into a settled expression. "Number four privet drive" Remus spoke clearly. Though a slight tremble echoed through his voice. And he was off. Little did he know he'd miss Dumbledore by mere seconds.

He felt a thump in his chest as he moved, swirling around and around until he found the dreaded place he was looking for. He only knew what it looked like because of the one time he, James, Peter and.. him.. had pranked that fat lard Vernon after a particularly vile exchange with Lily. He stopped rather suddenly. Gazing up, he saw the same disgusting flowered wallpaper he'd seen not two years ago, the same cream couch that James and him had sat on once. He hated this place. Hated the feeling. Searching around the room Remus realised that there wasn't a single picture of Harry. There was nothing to show his pup lived there. Fear tore through his heart at the thought that he had been given away. This feeling still hadn't left him. He wouldn't find him in time he knew it. He heard a front door slam rather heavily and hid quickly behind the living room door. There was just silence, nothing but the ticking of a clock and a faint smell of iron in the air. Craning his neck around the door, Remus' nose led him to a cupboard. Tiny red droplets scattered around the opening. Definitely blood, Remus thought. He nose never lied. Taking a deep shuddering breath, Remus grabbed at the lock and slowly opened the cupboard door.
