Hazel sighed as she heard loud knocking on her door. "If that's those stupid girls asking me for money for the coin drive again, I will reserve the right to use whatever hairbrushes I can find as I see fit."
Raven snorted.
Hazel pushed herself off the bed and opened the door as the knocking started again. "Alright, alright, I'm coming." She opened the door and her eyes widened. "Daisy?"
"Hazel, it's bad. It's really bad."
"Ok, ok, come in and sit down. And take a breath!" Hazel pulled her friend into the room. "There. Sit."
Daisy shakily sat down. "Ok."
"Now, what happened?"
"Lil punched Tina."
"What?!"
"So much for take a breath." Raven muttered.
"Well, not punched. Slapped. In the face. There's a mark."
"Shit." Hazel cursed quietly.
"Language." Raven smirked.
Hazel rolled her eyes. "Incorrigible."
"Thank you."
"Anyway, how do you know? Did you see it happen?"
Daisy sighed. "No. And I honestly don't know if she did. I don't think she would, but I didn't think she'd ever lose her temper before this year."
Hazel nodded, indicating Daisy should continue.
"Tina cursed Lil out this morning, and Lil told her to come to the DR at 3. Tina tried to get away with not coming by trying out for cheerleading, and Lil was really mad when she found her apparently. Anyway, she came back to our room to finish the form, got a text from headmistress that I had to go down, and when we got there, Christina was there with a mark on her cheek and she tried to blame me for it."
"She blamed you?" Raven cut in with confusion.
"Yeah. Lil said that there was no way that I could have done it and when the headmistress asked why not, Lil said that it was because she was the one who did it."
"Geez." Hazel muttered.
"I don't know if Lil would do that though. I mean, blowing up and smacking me is one thing but actually being so upset that she would slap someone hard enough to leave a mark? That's not something she'd do."
"Would she not? This is what, her third incident with Tina in two months? I know if it was me I would be extremely frustrated at that point."
"But you have the control to not blow up. And so does Lil."
"What did she do to her? You said she filled out the form in your room."
Daisy shifted uncomfortably. "The cane."
Hazel considered. "It's no less than she deserved, but that isn't like Lil. Even while I was training her, she was incredibly reluctant to use a cane. She'd have had to been really upset."
"So you think she slapped Tina?"
Hazel spoke carefully. "We can't rule it out. But the headmistress will get to the bottom of it. I hope she didn't."

Hazel glanced down as her phone dinged.
"Is it Daisy? Did Lil come back?" Raven asked.
"No. Headmistress wants to see me."
Raven smirked. "Did you slap Tina?"
