AN: This chapter contains the spanking of young girls, don't read if that's not your cup of tea. The author does not condone the spanking of real life children, etc.
Lilian marched to where the Headmistress was waiting, with purpose in her step and a serious look on her face. The woman was standing with her arms crossed looking at two small girls, one with shiny black braids who was crying, and one with a mass of curly red hair who had her arms crossed.
"Miss VanGrayson. Excellent. I have to run, you can handle this?"
"Of course, ma'am. You two, with me." Lil placed a hand on each girl's shoulder and steered them down the hall to the discipline room, taking several deep breaths on the way.
"Please take off your blazers and have a seat on the couch." Lil instructed in a stern, but not overly intimidating tone. Hazel's instructions floated back to her. You can let the younger ones know that you mean business without scaring the bejeebers out of them.
"Now, would you please tell me your names?" Lil stepped over to the drawer which held a tablet accessing the student files. She hid a smirk as she remembered how annoyed Hazel had been that they'd not gotten rid of paper files before hand.
"Maya Raegan." The redhead volunteered her name as she sat down on the couch and tucked up her knees.
Lilian did a quick search. Raegan, Maya; Age 8 - Incidents: L4 - 2; L3 - 0; L2 - 1. Further inspection showed no previous fights.
"And your name?" Lil turned to the still crying girl.
"Elodie Carter." The girl sniffled out.
Lil searched again, but found only the girl's name and age; 7. "Is it your first year here, Miss Carter?"
"Yes, miss."
Lil put away the tablet and turned to face the two little girls. "Alright, I would like an explanation as to why you two were in a fight, and on the first day, no less."
"Well." Maya twisted one of her curls around her finger and looked up at the ceiling in thought. "Elodie was s'posed to follow me around cuz it's her first day, 'cept then I had to go to the music room cuz my mom signed me up for piano lessons an' I asked if she wanted to come an' she didn't so she went to her room an' I went to the music room an' when I came back she was crying cuz I left her behind, so I said "you told me you didn't wanna come" an' she said "no I didn't" an' I said "yes you did" an' she said "didn't neither" an' I said "did so" an' then we started pushing each other." The little girl took a big breath as she'd said the whole thing in one breath and then looked down at the floor.
"Miss Carter, is this true?"
"Mostly, miss, except she really didn't ask me if I wanted to come, I turned around and she wasn't there, and I got scared because I didn't know how to find my room again."
"Nuh uh! I did ask you!" Maya turned to Elodie with a frown.
"Well maybe I didn't hear you or something, but one minute you were there and the next, you weren't." Elodie scooted backwards as she defended herself.
"Alright ladies, that is quite enough." Lil was rather surprised and a bit pleased when the two girls immediately stopped and sat still, looking at her. "Miss Raegan, are you quite certain that you asked her what she would prefer to do?"
"Yes miss! Promise!"
"And were you certain that you heard her answer?"
The girl squirmed a bit. "Well, it was really loud in the hallway." She hedged.
"I see. Next time, take care to make sure that you both understand, yes?"
"Yes miss."
"Good. Now, that being said, fighting is strictly forbidden at East Hill Private Academy. Are you aware of this?"
