CHAPTER 7
Roger had emailed a description of Rosa and a bio with the information Dom felt he would need. He'd memorized every detail that he'd been given.
Roger had also sent the seat assignments and a listing of passenger names with any information they had managed to gather.
Dominic stayed well back so as not to draw attention, but he could see all the passengers as they arrived. He'd noticed the two men and as he swiftly glanced up he'd already noticed that they were on surveillance cameras and their pictures were already going to headquarters for identification and verification. They must have hurried to get ahead of Rosa since he didn't yet see her in the crowd of people passing the camera monitors. Watching the other passengers deplane he mentally assessed the risk of each of them. If something happened in the air would they be an added danger, a loose cannon? Any passenger was a potential catalyst for escalating a situation but over the years Dominic had developed a strong ability to read panicky people. He asked security to remove the old man who had just passed him. He had an oxygen machine and any tension could cause the terrorist to use it as a weapon. He also asked that the old couple be removed. It was a purely selfish reason. The old woman was a bitter belligerent personality whose voice grated on his nerves and would on any man's. He felt sorry for the husband. He knew it wasn't a professional reason but if he was going on this flight he didn't want to listen to her nagging her husband. Besides security would get them on another flight sooner than flight 1107 would leave St Louis.
He also had just spotted the mother and child. The child was getting cranky, starting to whine and fuss, crying in wailing hiccupping fashion. The mother was too exhausted to sooth her and they were a potential liability to the operation. The strident crying of a child could create added tension. Rosa had been wise to alert him. Even if she didn't know it was him... he thought with a grin.
Then Dominic spotted her.
He felt like he'd been punched in the stomach. He had memorized the bio that Roger had sent him and he didn't believe she was 5' tall. She was tiny. Perfectly proportioned but so small. Her skin was flawless and she was very pale. Her long black hair cascaded down her back. She was so finely made that she seemed like a china doll. She also looked strained and ready to cry.
