CHAPTER 27

Dominic had promised to go with Tony to pick up his parents.

Getting to his feet he gave Rosa a kiss and reluctantly went with Tony to pickup his parents at the airport.

Henry played with his dinosaur while Linda and Rosa quietly talked. As they talked Linda yawned and then apologized.

"Oh, you must be exhausted. Why not lay down and I'll keep Henry company." Rosa suggested.

'Oh, I can't let you do that. You're a guest and I can't just go take a nap." Linda said with obvious longing.

"Sure, it'll give me a chance to get to know Henry and you'll be rested for when you're parents get back with the guys. Go on it'll do you good." Rosa insisted.

"Alright I think you've twisted my arm. Thanks for watching Henry. I'll just rest for an hour and then I'll be much better."

Over at the Eagle Crest Ranch Donnie was just heading out to do the afternoon feeding when the phone rang. "Got it." He yelled. "Hello."

"May I speak to Rosa Carerra? This is Agent Jones," came a low voice over the line.

"I'm sorry Agent Jones she's not here. I'll give you the number where you can reach her. Is everything Ok?"

"Yes sir, this is a routine follow up to our investigation. Thank you, sir." Giving the information to the caller, Donnie hung up the phone and continued to the lower barn to feed the calves that they had there.

Duncan rubbed a meaty palm over his baldhead. This would be easy he decided. He'd heard from Misha the details of the mission. The captain of the cargo ship had radioed that they were being stopped by American patrols, and Misha had gone ballistic. When she'd found out that the cargo ship had been boarded and that the entire crew was under arrest Misha had told him they had a new mission. No doubt the Commander would have their necks for this foul-up. Getting the girl who had caused such a mess was now very important. It would be the only way to deflect the punishment the Commander would meet out for their failure.

There had been only two Carrera's listed in the phone book. The number the other man had given had confirmed the location of the woman.

He had stolen a plain dark car from a motel parking lot and would be able to grab her and get her to the boat to take her back to Russia to stand trial for her interference. He had taken over the mission since Misha had messed up so badly. The capture of this Rosa Carrera would be very satisfying and maybe they would get the chance to participate in her interrogation. She must be a Top Agent of the American government. The American Government had sent 3 ships to rescue her and she had stopped them from completing their mission. She must be very good, and very valuable to her government. Such a capture would make the Commander pleased very pleased. Knowing that the Commander would be very happy with such a hostage he'd forcefully told Misha that he was in charge now. She had not been happy but he'd told her that if she wanted his help getting the girl then she would have to follow his orders. Gritting her teeth she had eventually agreed. His plan was simple they would kidnap the girl and take her to Mexico and then they would take her back to Russia, and give her over to the Commander.

His call had only confirmed the location; he would have found her anyway. It didn't take him long to find the farm where she was staying. He had watched the house for hours.

Parking the car down a side road he'd waited until he'd seen a pickup with one man leave the farm. He had watched the house for over a half hour before he saw a car leave.
