CHAPTER 13

He wanted this special time to drink in the serenity he felt when he was with her.

His arm was always around her or he held her hand. They touched often. Innocently. She had never felt so cherished.

Once they had arrived back at the rooms he locked her door. Turning back toward her he gently pulled her back into his arms.

"Are you feeling any better?" When she assured him she was loads better. He grinned and gave her a kiss, his tongue touching the outer shell of her lips and his tenderness quickly shifted into passionate desire. With extreme effort he put her away from him as he watched the color bloom on her face only to seep away as she came her senses.

"Why don't you get some rest while I finish up with Roger. I've got some calls to make. You still look tired." Surprised at how much he'd missed her for the brief time that he'd released her.

She nodded as she wrapped her arms about her waist. She needed to get herself under control and she still felt wiped out from the migraine. Giving his suggestion some thought, a little nap sounded like a great idea. She watched as he headed for his room to make his calls and to touch base with his boss.

Rosa lay down on the bed, planning to just rest but she was asleep in minutes.

Dominic knocked on her door at 6PM for dinner.

He again had selected a restaurant within a short walk of the hotel.

It was a Mexican restaurant. They found that they both like spicy foods, although Rosa could not handle the hot jalapeno sauce. Dominic agreed that it was a taste he'd never acquired. "But my dad sure likes it. Mom won't let him eat too much of it. She says it'll eat a hole in his stomach." He chuckled at some family memories. He was surprised since he hadn't felt happy in such a long time.

Then he asked her about her parents. He knew the basics from the bio that Roger had sent him. He wanted to know more about her and her family. He just wanted to hear her tell him.

"My mother teaches 2nd grade Reading at Meadow Creek Elementary. Mom thinks that's the best time to get children interested in reading, especially if they don't get much encouragement at home. She always read to Donnie and me and says it's so sad that parents don't seem to have the time or take the time to share that with their children. Especially when reading is so important. Dad is a Language Professor at North Field College. He really wants to retire and write mystery novels."

Leaning in close she smiled and whispered, "Mom won't let him yet. She thinks he's too young. Dads' a bit of a recluse, he enjoys his own company and mom's too of course. Still she's afraid he'd vegetate in his den and never see anyone." Dominic chuckled as she continued,

"He loves Sherlock Holmes. He's addicted to solving puzzles of any kind. Sometimes he stays up all night if he gets on a really involved one. Mom's found him asleep in his recliner with a puzzle in his hand and his glasses on the floor. If she wakes him he goes right back to the puzzle." She said with a bemused shake of her head. "Some days she says he drives her nuts. But I think she worries about him not sleeping enough."

He was holding her hand and his thumb moved gently across the back of her hand. His gentle touch distracted her a moment and she sucked in a lungful of air to calm her nerves.

"You know that I have a brother named Donnie." She said dipping her head with an embarrassed smile. Dominic gave her a quick kiss and nodded. He thought it was cute that she was embarrassed about the emails she'd sent to him thinking it was her brother.
