Chapter 8
"How are you feeling right now?" He asked, eyes turning back to normal. Although he looked worried, he's not closer in being apologetic about the kiss that wasn't supposed to happen.
I narrowed my eyes at him suspiciously. "What was that?"
"I kissed you." He replied nocholantly. He was stating the obvious that I felt the need to shove my face on my knees, to cover the blush I knew was spreading slowly on both side of my cheeks.
"N-no, not that." I stuttered, feeling embarrassed. I am sure for myself that I wasn't going to open that topic. Not in a million years. Ever. "How did you stopped it?"
"Before that, why didn't you tell me you were feeling ill? Don't you think I am not worried despite of your attempts to keep it for yourself?"
I remained silent, trying to look the other way, avoiding his gaze. I couldn't keep my cool, because I am bothered by the kiss that was still repeatedly replaying on my mind.
"Asami." He said my name, calling me as if he knew I was busy with my own thoughts. "Don't ignore me right now like you did for the past twenty four hours."
"I didn't ignore you."
"I knocked on your door multiple times and you did not answer."
"I couldn't answer because my throat is burning it hurts." I said in defense,my voice still groggy from waking up.
"I know. Seiren knew it after seeing the boxes scattered around your floor, that's why she called me. She said you were asking for more tablets."
"She did not bring me any, did she?"
"No." His reply was short, but base on what expression he is wearing, he was obviously pissed. It was an unlikely and rare sight, but it's really good to know he still has expressions to show.
"So, that's why she brought you here instead?" I grinned, half joking.
"Maybe." He answered. "You're not bothered by what I did, are you?"
"You did something?"
"I did." He pressed his index finger to my lips, pushing it as if to test how soft my lips would be. He looked at me in my eyes, "You don't remember?"
I gulped. This was the first time I felt nervous around him. He was still waiting for my answer, staring at my lips.
"No, I remember."
"That's good."
My eyes went wide, "Wh-what? You're not going to apologize?"
"I don't think it's a sin to kiss someone you love. So tell me, why would I?"
"It was uncalled for. You could've told me to bite you."
"Will you?"
Frankly, I won't. Instead I replied, "Y-yes."
"Then do it." His eyes looked taunting. He was unbuttoning loose his polo, making it sure his neck was in plain view. "Bite anywhere you like."
"Not now. Someday, I will." I ran my fingers at the crook of his neck, tracing it with my fingertips. Any of my species would give their life to replace me in this situation, but here I am declining it.
"Aren't you stubborn?" He messed my hair, when I've already cling to him tightly. Using skinship I knew he likes so I can avoid his anger. "You're making it really hard on me to be mad at you."
Of course, I have to play the innocent part. "You're planning to get mad?"
"Not really."
"Yes, you were." I insisted, fixing his collars and tiding the hems of his clothing before finally settling on his lap.
