I rode my horse to the battlefield, glaring as I saw Luciana there smirking. I took a deep breath then looked at Delano, but he nodded.
"We will follow your plan, Lylah." He said and I nodded, looking at Luciana and pulling my helmet down over my head.
"READY?!" I called, drawing my sword, then gripped the reigns of my horse tightly.
"CHARGE!" Luciana yelled and Delano repeated the word, the two forces clashing along the line of sun and night. As armor collided, horses fell to the ground dead or dying, I jumped off my horse and she ran for the camp with Delano's horse, the man himself fighting beside me.
"Behind you!" He called and I turned, running the man through.
"LYLAH!" I glared at Luciana then she pulled her helmet off, but roared and the battle around us stopped.
"NO MORE WAR!" She roared then I yanked my helmet off, my braid falling to rest on my left shoulder.
"This is between us!" She snarled, holding her sword, then I threw my helmet at Delano, who caught it.
"Don't forget! I have already kicked your ass twice!"
"And I'm the one who put you on your death bed-"
"Yet, here I stand!" I growled, both of us circling each other.
"They don't know, do they?!" Luciana laughed, though I cast a glance at my men.
"What you did in my palace-"
"What you forced upon me?! They know, you idiot! I don't hide things from my people, I don't lie to them and cheat them out of their lives or money!" I growled and saw her soldiers whispering to each other.
"And I don't ignore my duties as a queen just so I can have dick! You're a slut, a whore, all because you hate your husband and don't want to think of a day when the Sun Court doesn't praise your name!" I growled, but she roared and ran at me. I parried her, knocking her to the ground, then I twirled my sword in my hand and watched her stand, glaring at me.
"I know that, one day, I will be in the grave and my children, my grandchildren, they will be the ones ruling my court, my country! Get over yourself, you're not immortal, and you are certainly beginning to age!" I laughed and she ran at me, but I blocked her sword with mine and it became a test of power as she pressed against me.
"You're a fake!" She snarled, but I grinned.
"And you're a psychotic whore who can't keep men from giving her unwanted children!" I taunted and she roared, but I swept my leg under hers and she fell on her back. I kneeled on her chest, holding my sword to her throat, but she threw me off and I rolled. When a soldier helped me stand, I felt my hands warming up and growled as I saw her also about to use her magic.
"You want to kill your men?!" I growled, but she simply laughed.
"Lambs to the slaughter, Lylah! They're just pawns, weapons to help me win this war!" She laughed, but I growled and cast my magic over the two of us and the space we were in, protecting all the soldiers as she cast her sun magic, blinding me.
Delano's POV
I looked away when a blinding light blocked out the two rulers, but I looked back and saw Lylah had protected everyone, keeping Luciana's magic inside a bubble. I looked for Lylah, but saw her panting as she covered her face, her back against her magic wall."Is that all the great Moon Queen has to offer?!" Luciana laughed, but I saw Lylah preparing for her next use of the magic she was still very much not used to using.
"No, it's not!" Lylah growled and I stared as the dark sky of the Moon Court covered the battlefield, stretching over the Sun Court and encasing us all in complete darkness.
"What is this?!" Luciana cried, but I watched as the moon seemed to grow, shining down on us.
"Captain, what is she doing?!" Lukas asked, but I shook my head.
"She-she can't be serious." I whispered then watched as Lylah unleashed her magic full force on Luciana, making her scream as she was trapped in this unbreakable barrier with the Moon Queen. I watched Luciana fall to her knees, covering her head, but Lylah screamed out as she used more magic, the moon growing even more.
"She-she's beating her?!" Troy asked and I nodded, staring at Lylah as she seemed to glow ethereal light like the ghostly figure of her that was in her chambers.
"THIS IS THE TRUE POWER OF THE MOON QUEEN, LUCIANA! WHEN THE MOON QUEEN HAS SOMETHING TO FIGHT FOR, SOMEONE TO PROTECT WITH ALL THEIR MIGHT, THIS IS WHAT SHE CAN DO!" Lylah roared then I watched as the sunlight started filtering in, Lylah stopped glowing too. When she stopped, I looked at Luciana, but she was pale, skin and bone, and her hair was thin, pale, and it looked rough.
"I-I surrender!" Luciana cried and everyone cheered as Lylah smirked, dropping the barrier.
"ENOUGH!" Lylah roared and everyone stopped, looking at the winner of the war.
"Luciana, there is a law in my country, it's a fairly new law. If you harm or endanger my people in any way, your punishment is death. Though, you may know this, as I nearly cast this judgement onto your bastard son Luca. For you, I will allow your people to decide your fate once I send my mother to rule your land, to expose you for all you have done. As of now, lock her away in one of our carriage cells." She said and Troy grabbed Luciana with Lukas.
"All of Luciana's soldiers!" Lylah called and looked around, the golden armor making them obvious.
"As of this day, you have a choice! You can either remain in the Sun Court, or I will welcome you in the Moon Court! It'll take time for people to learn to trust you in the Moon Court should you decide to join my people, but we will learn to! I promise, the choice is yours!" She yelled and everyone cheered as we celebrated an end to the long war. I smiled as Lylah looked at me, but she beckoned me forward and I laughed, going towards her.
"I'll admit, you had me worried for a moment." I said, but she rolled her eyes and hugged my neck, yanking me down and kissing me despite all the people who could watch us. Not that either one of us really cared.
