Riley
I went home immediately after practice, and once I opened the door, my Mom greeted me with a peck on the cheek, looking happy.
"Mom, is everything okay?" I ask, as I wonder what could she be happy about.
"Yes, sweetheart! I have something to tell you" She answered back as she follows me to the kitchen, helping myself a glass of orange juice.
"I’m listening”
"Your dad will come back home in two
days!" She squealed showing me her jazz hands.I choked on my drink and coughed.
"WHAT?!" My father, Will Falcon is a professional chef, every now and then he will travel to other restaurants or go out of the country to explore food. He will always go away telling us that the 'sound of ingredients' is calling him. He spends too much time with his food than his family.
"What’s the problem, Riley? He’s been
away for five months, didn’t you miss him?""Yeah, of course, but..."
My mother crossed her arms "But...?"
"You know he’s not keen on my passion for sports. He thinks it’s just 'a
stupid waste of time' We’ve always fought each other on this" I explained to my Mom, but it looks like she never gets the idea that my Dad hates me doing sports."I know, Riley. But you managed to change my mind, I’m sure you’ll be able to change your dad’s mind, too"
She gave me a hug and then started cooking.
I snorted. "I’m not hungry, Mom, I’m going to my room"
I threw my gym bag on the bed and sat on the floor. Blood rushes to my head, emotions pilling up, angry and disappointed. Just great, Dad is coming home and I don't know what should I do.
I scratch my head, then my phone rang. I answered it quickly without bothering to look who was calling.
"Hey Riley!" A sound of a man greeted me, its my Coach.
"Coach?"
"Are you okay? I hope so, because we have an important match to play in two days"
"But you told me the team was-" As I was speaking, Coach quickly speak up "Marcus had his ankle broken, he won’t be there. We need you"
I paused, unsure about what to do, but I said "I’ll be there"
"I knew we could trust you! See you
in three days!"I hung up and put my hands on my face What should I do? If I tell my dad,
he won’t let me go for sure, but if I don’t...?Kabale
I was hanging out with the Devils when my spy bell rang. My terrestrial needs some tempting. I quickly said goodbye to them and flew to Riley, crossing path with Sweet.
"Better watch out, Angel" I teased
"You better not do anything weird Kabale" she answered back "Riley is a good terrestrial"
"Well, you better guide Riley properly" I smiled as I put an emphasis on guide.
Once we've arrived to Riley's house, we flew directly to his room, seeing him sitting on the floor and talking to his phone. He seems troubled as the call was ending and we hear his thoughts: What should I do? If I tell my dad,
he won’t let me go for sure, but if I don’t...?
