George POV:

Walking through the hospital entrance is always the worst part of visiting. It's the same thing over and over again. The same receptionist. The same stale smell. That constant beeping sound. I hate it.

Clay was by my side walking down the hospital hallways with me, towards my fathers room. 'Male Cancer Ward' I read on the sign above. I inhale through my nose, holding my breath. My dad has been getting a lot worst recently. By worst I mean, close to death. My family always knew this day would come eventually, where my father would leave us. My dad has sort of just accepted it. From the start he knew this would happen, but it took longer for me to accept the fact that my dad will die.

"Do you want me to come in with you? Or stay out here and wait for you" Clay says, giving me a sympathetic smile. "You don't have to wait Clay, you know this. You can go home and I can always take the bus or walk back" I sigh. "Hey, I can tell today will be a rough visit. You're going to need someone to cheer you up" He chuckles, nudging my shoulder to lighten the mood a bit. Or at least try to. I slightly smile and look down at my shoes. "George, I will stay and wait out here for you okay? Then we can do something after. Whatever you want, whatever will make you happy" He says, pulling me in for a much needed hug. My eyes start to water but I refuse to let myself cry. I don't want to go in there and my dad to see me like this. I lean into the hug before pulling away. "Okay, thank you Clay" I whisper, smiling softly at him. "Of course" He says, then turns around then taking a seat in the waiting area.

I watch him take out his phone and busy himself in something. Then turning the corner and walk towards my fathers room. Out of my family, I'm the only one who visits him everyday. Or at least try to. My brother has sort of just given up at this point. He hates seeing dad like this, so he just doesn't come. My mum tries to visit as much as she can, but it's really hard for her. She's having to work double shifts for more money. I'm always trying to offer her as much as I can but she would always reject my money.

In front of me is 'room 24A'. My dads room. The room I'm so used too. It's been the same room for months now and I cant imagine how bored and lonely it must get for him. I reach for the handle in front of me, slowly pushing the door open. The first thing I see is the wires. The wires that are currently keeping my dad alive. Then I move my eyes up and see my dads face. He's looking over to me with the biggest smile on his face. How can he be so happy? Why isn't this affecting him?

"George! You're here!" He says excitedly. I chuckle slightly, then pull over the chair in the opposite corner to him so I'm closer to his bed. "Hey Dad. How have you been? Anything exciting happened since last time I was here?" I joke. "Hm well actually, a really really hot chick visited me yesterday" He says, smiling slyly. I gasp "Dad! What about mum?" All I get in response is a chesty laugh, followed by coughing. I sit up then go over to the tap to pour him a glass of water and bringing it back over to him. "It was your mum!" He says laughing again. I playfully roll my eyes at him, also laughing. "Anyways, son, how was practice yesterday? Did you manage to secretly record the song for me?" He questions. I nod excitedly pulling out my phone to show him.

The start of the video is me pressing record then cheekily smiling. I set down the camera behind my bag but still make the band visible then slowly jog over to the microphone. Tyler starts smacking his drum sticks together, signalling the start of the song. Then Phoenix starts playing his electric guitar, strumming the first chords of the song. Ty then joins in with his drums, drumming along to the same beat as Phoenix. You can see me patiently wait for my queue, and tapping my foot against the floor counting the beats. Realising it's almost time to join in, I grab the mic and bring it closer to my face.

'Oooh girl don't you stop, don't you stop 'till you get enough honey. Oh honey, honeypie, honey, honey, honeypie'

Phoenix also has a mic to sing, but his mic is a lot quieter than mine. It just adds to the song. We continue through the song, and towards the end we're all pretty sweaty, but all equally as happy at how the practice went. "That was amazing!" Tyler shouts in his deep voice. Phoenix and I nod in agreement, then I remember my phone. I jog over to it,  then quietly mumble. "Hope you liked it dad!" I say laughing, then ending the recording.
