Jason and I didn't feel cooking today so we decided to meet with the Wades for brunch. We were thinking of doing our annual dinner with our friends but we are still trying to get the kids onto a routine so maybe next month.

"They are so gorgeous." Gabrielle sighs happily as she holds Kiana in her arms. "Have you guys thought about whether you'll be having more?"

I pull a face and Jason chuckles.

"We just want to enjoy Kai and Kiana for as long as we can before we go down that route again." Jason smoothly answers. "The pair of them are quite troublesome on their own so we have some years to think about it."

I squeeze his thigh to show my appreciation.

"What about you?" I flip the question. "Are there any plans to--"

"So." Gabrielle looks at Dwyane with a big smile before looking at us. "We are expecting v-"

"What!" My mouth falls open before I gather myself. "Congratulations."

I stand to my feet to give her hug and she lets out a loud laugh.

"We have a surrogate." Gabrielle says and I shrug my shoulders as we hug.

"Congratulations nonetheless."

Gabrielle has wanted children for years but she has unfortunately had quite a few miscarriages during her marriage to Dwyane who has three of his own kids.

"Congratulations man." Jason tells Dwyane laughs.

"Thanks man."

Our arrives and we put the babies down in their carriers since they are asleep now. We make some light conversation as we start eating and I'm just so happy that we came out because it just feels good.

There is something different about eating out.

I don't have to worry about the aftermath of having a meal, like trying to clean up while tending to the kids.
