It's Just Another Day

It's just another day.
She has to remind herself.
In the moment,
The smiles are real,
The nightmares fade away.
Fade away till the sun goes down
And her moon comes out to stay.

It's just one of those nights,
She sighs to herself.
She can't sleep,
The monsters aren't  under her bed-
They're  inside her head,
Whispering hateful lies
And carving into her heart.

It's  just one of those nights,
When it's one in the morning,
And she's  sitting under the turrets  of water.
Hoping that maybe it'd wash away that hollowness,
The cold, sinking  loneliness that stains her soul.

There's  no words,
No comfort.
Nothing.
And she couldn't  find the words to say.
How could she?
It's suffocating,
Choking her before the words  ever reached her mouth.

It's just another day,
To smile and try to pretend
That she's  not falling apart.
