The preparation for the annual talent show is going smoothly. Kookie has learned that there are no backgrounds or huge stage because the school does not have that kind of a budget. The kids perform in the grounds with a white board behind.

This kind of felt sad to Kookie so he asked from Namjoon whether he and his students can try to create some simple background pictures. Namjoon was really happy with it.

Taehyung got really happy when he heard it. So happy that he squealed and gave the other a tight hug.

"Oh God, Kookie, that's wonderful." Taehyung yelled as he pulled Kookie in to a bone crushing hug. "Now the arts students can show there talent too. I don't know why we didn't think of it before."

Kookie shyly returned the hug as his face got flushed a bit.

"Uhhh....y-yeah.." Kookie tired to speak but the close proximity of the other seemed to have make him speechless.

Taehyung pulled back a bit to see Kookie's face and that's when he also realized the state they both were in.

"Oh!" Taehyung quickly removed his hands from Kookie's shoulders and took few steps back. "I-i'm sorry."

Kookie just looked down with a small smile. He didn't mind it at all.

So now Kookie was also busy with preparations for the talent show. The down side of it was that he was not able to help Taehyung as much as he liked. Taehyung said it was totally ok but Kookie always felt bad.

One day, he finished his work bit early so he went to the room that Taehyung was doing his coaching sessions. He tried to open the door quietly as he didn't want to disturb him but what he heard, stopped his hand midway.

"-just one drink Tae. Come on.." Hoseok voice sounded like he's whining.

"But it's a.. fine. Let me just ask Kookie if he wants to come too."

"Don't!! I was think about just the two of us going." Hoseok's voice had the slightest hint of irritation.

"Oh-"

Kookie didn't wait to hear anymore and just closed the door. He was sad and frustrated. Sad because someone else is showing interest in the person he likes and there is a chance that Taehyung will respond favourably to it.

Frustrated because he wanted to do that, ask Taehyung out for drinks and do many more things but he can't. He just can't without knowing what's in his own past. What if someone else already have a claim on him?

It's not fair for him to interfere with Taehyung's life when he doesn't really know whether they have a future together. On one hand, Kookie wished for his memories to come back soon but at the same time, he's damn scared of what he might remember.

Kookie stayed sometime more in the school, drowned in negative thoughts before deciding to head back home. He didn't want to bother Taehyung so he didn't call him.

Taehyung had gotten him a bicycle too which was how both of them are coming to school now. He was about a quarter way home when his phone rang. Kookie pulled it out from his pocket to see Taehyung calling him.

"Hello?" Kookie answered in a small voice.

"Hey, where are you?" Taehyung's cheerful voice came back.

"I-I'm going home."

There was a few seconds of silence.

"Without telling me? Kookie did you just left me?" Taehyung asked in a confused voice.

Kookie didn't really had an answer to that. He knew he should have called Taehyung but he just didn't want to be a bother.

"Kookie?" Taehyung voice sounded bit tight now. "Why?"

"I-I thought y-you would be going for drinks with Hoseok." Kookie muttered.

"What?! Who told you that?"

"No one. I..uh.. just heard you and Hoseok talking."

"And did you hear a part where I agreed to go out for drinks with him?"

"N-no. I left b-before that." Kookie was feeling stupider and stupider by the minute.

There was again a few seconds of silence where Kookie grabbed the phone with both hands, listening intensely for a sound from the other end.

"Eavesdropping is bad Kookie. And if you're really doing that, you should hear it till the end without jumping to conclusions by yourself." Taehyung's voice sounded bit angry this time.

"W-what?"

"I didn't go out with him. I said no and was just working till now." Taehyung explained in a tight voice and Kookie let out a tiny gasp. "But yeah, whatever. I'll see you at home. Go safely. Bye."

Taehyung was just about to cut the line when Kookie shouted from the other end.

"No wait!! I'll come back."

"No need. You're already on your way right? Just go home."

"Tae, please..." Kookie said in a pleading voice. "Please let me come back."

There was again a few seconds of silence before Kookie heard a sigh from the other end.

"Fine, I'll wait."

"Thank you."

Kookie quickly turned his bicycle around and rode back to the school in a record time. As he reached there, he saw Taehyung sitting on a step near the entrance with his bicycle.

Kookie quickly got down and walked towards Taehyung tentatively. Taehyung looked up at him with a tight gaze and Kookie looked down in shame.

"I'm sorry." Kookie mumbled with his head hung low, his fingers were fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.

Taehyung didn't answer at first and got up to look at the other properly. He could see the sweat on Kookie's forehead and his fast breathing and knew that the other had really worked to get here as fast as he can.

"It's ok." Taehyung said in a soft voice. "Just.. d-don't leave me again."

Kookie looked up to see the other give a small smile and felt his heart finally at peace.

"Never, I promise."

With that both of them got on to their bicycles and went home.
