"Date you? Kate shook her head and looked at Leah for support.
Leah meekly shrugged without confirming or refuting Gabe's request.
"Tell her the truth, Leah. Tell her maybe I wouldn't be so forward if she weren't so obvious." Gabe remarked.
"Nah...if you weren't so forward, then she would never know you were interested." Leah smirked as she stood up from the table and tossed her trash in a can nearby.
"Stop being such a pragmatist, Leah," Kate shot back.
"Huh?" Gabe looked at both girls confusingly.
Both girls laughed at his expression.
Kate gently pressed her hand to Gabe's chest and said, "Let's just talk after school."
She slid out from beneath his arms and said, "I'm sorry, Gabe. I don't know what has gotten into you today, but I think you need to think about what you are doing and saying."
Maybe she could overlook his boldness if she were willing to have just a superficial relationship.
"So, I have a chance to make you mine still kitten? Come on, help me figure out how to entice you." Gabe beamed, apparently convinced he could dispense some kind of magic over her.
Kate shook her head and then sighed. In any case, Gabe wasn't a good option for her even though he made her weak in the knees and wet in her panties just looking at him. She wasn't quite sure how in the hell she was standing up at all after just two kisses. She imagined her body and brain were in shock or that for some strange reason she was perceiving it as a fantasy and her usual tendency to fall into a panic attack had not happened because her brain had not  registered it as reality.  But it was better for her not to fall so quickly under some jock's spell.
The bell rang, signaling the lunch period was over. Kate discarded her trash as Leah grabbed her backpack and said, "we better get to class in time to dress out for gym. Coach Paynes will make us stay after for detention if we are late again."
"I'm sorry. I have to go. I have P.E. I will try to catch up with you later."
"Can you meet me at the field after 4:30? I have practice."
"I need to pick up my brother from the elementary school. I'll see what I can do. Gotta go."
Kate questioned meeting up with Gabe over and over in the hour since leaving school and picking up her brother. She prepared a casserole dish for dinner, helped him with his homework, and instructed him to take a shower. After asking her neighbor to keep an eye out for him, she changed her clothes and brushed her teeth.
Her brother was 14 years old and capable of being alone, but she knew that her mom expected her to be the responsible one. She told her brother she would be back in an hour, and he gave her a short wave, barely acknowledging her as he played his video game.
Kate locked the door of their small apartment and realized sweat was beading on her forehead. Her phone rang as soon as she let out a sigh.
"Kate. Where are you?" a male voice asked.
    "Who is this?" Kate responded.
    "It's Gabe."
"I'm at my apartment. What is wrong? How did you get my number?"
"Nothing is wrong. Leah gave it to me. So are you standing me up?"
Kate stood frozen, unsure of whether or not to be honest. It wasn't 4:30 yet, and she was only a few blocks away from the school, but she had questioned herself about going.
She didn't want Gabe to think she was timid or a girl who would fall for his charm so easily. But damn it, if he didn't cause noises in her head and heart already. Every time she looked at his lips, she couldn't help but remember that they tasted so savory.
"What if I was? I told you already that we are not a good match." Kate retorted.
"Your mouth speaks against what your lips said to me." Gabe chuckled.
"Don't flatter yourself, Gabriel Perez. I can't help it if you never have had the opportunity to kiss a girl who obviously appeals to you." Kate smirked.
Kate smiled as she stood facing the door and waiting for his response. She liked this sexy banter and the way he teased her. A warm, soft sensation brushed across her neck, and her flesh became tingly. She felt her nipples harden against the light t-shirt she had pulled on. A few seconds of silence.
     "Gabe? Are you there?"
"No... I'm right here, kitten." He purred.
Kate's body froze. Gabe placed his hands on both sides of her hips, rubbing his thumbs up and down, whispering in her ear, "I thought about those kisses all day. You're right, Kate. I've never kissed a girl who appeals to me as you do. I was hoping you'd like to see if third times really a charm?"
Kate's quick wit and courage melted like butter with Gabe's hands on her body and his breath on her neck.
"Holy shit!"She gasped, turning quickly to face him instinctively out of fright and surprise.
Before she could catch her breath, he cupped her face in his hands and took her mouth in his. His tongue lightly at first grazed her bottom lip as he pressed her to the door with his own hips against hers.
Her heart was pumping loudly from the shock and then from his tongue searching for hers while his lips smoothly ran across hers. He pressed lightly at first just holding both of his thumbs to her cheeks as he held her face but as she attempted to hesitate, he drew her back by softly braiding his fingers through her hair and kissing her deeper while he pressed his cock against her. She could feel the heat of his chest and as he rubbed his center closer each time. She was aware that he was becoming aroused by their kissing as his erection became harder against her pubic spot.
This thought made her warm and hot. Her groin ached, and she could feel blood rushing to her clitoris. She glanced at his thick fingers, her mind wishing he would slide them in her. Shit! If he didn't stop she would cum before he even touched her. She pushed back while pressing the tips of her fingers to his chest.
" Stop. Gabe I thought we were going to talk. I can't talk with your tongue in my throat."
"I think we are pretty compatible" Gabe replied with a smile. His eyes went from her lips to her hardened nipples.
Kate was instantly aware that her arousal was as obvious to him as his was to hers. She crossed her arms over her chest and lightly chuckled.
"Ok, so yeah but physical attraction
aside what else is in it for me to date you Gabe? I'm not a part of your social group and I have no intention of being another notch in your bedpost."
Gabe looked solemnly at Kate and said "Listen I think we have more in common with each other than you think. I don't have any notches in my bedpost."
Kate stared intently back waiting for Gabe to tell her that she was the butt of a joke. Nothing. He just stood staring at her.
"Ok, seriously, then what the hell do you want from me? Because I feel like I am being set up for something tragic. I just lost my dad recently and at the expense of looking stupid telling you that I don't understand what you are looking for."
"Kate, I know. That's what we have in common. I'm not some stuck-up jock like you think. I lost my dad a couple of years ago. My mom is a single mom, too. I see you at your dad's grave when I mow the church grounds. I like you. I want to see where this could go."
"So you want to date me because you feel sorry for me?" Kate shot back. She could feel tears welling up at the thought that Gabe had seen her with her dad, probably crying.
"Fuck no! I think you're sexy. I think you're feisty and a challenge. You seem like a good person. A great friend. Smart. Fun. I like kissing you. I don't know why but the more I am with you, the more I think about being with you." Gabe replied.
"Oh... I am sorry." Kate whispered softly.
"But none of that matters if you don't want to see where it could go. Can you give me a chance to win your trust? Can I take you on a date?"
"Ok. Fine. But we have to go slow. I'm not ready to go to bed with anyone Gabe. I want to be in love with the person I lose my virginity to and I want to know they are too."
"Good now can we stop talking and practice some relationship skills?" Gabe smirked.
Kate eyeballed him and smiled "Why do I feel like I just sold my soul to the devil?"
"I'm innocent." Gabe responded as he pulled her back to his body this time more firmly. He kissed her longer and deeper.
When she pulled away to catch her breath, she said "Are you going to kiss me like this every day?"
"Yes. Every day until you won't let me kiss you anymore."
"I hope you know what you're doing Gabriel Perez. I am scared of getting into something serious and getting hurt."
"I won't hurt you. I'll never hurt you. I promise you."
"I will see you tomorrow then."
"It's a date." Gabe kissed her once more and then a light peck and a kiss on her hand and waved goodbye.
Kate stood there watching him walk away.
     What would tomorrow bring?
