Chapter 25: You're my only exception

We arrived at the airport and Neymar went to get our luggage. We decided to stay in Brazil for a couple of days and come back a day before Neymar's match.

I could see him waving his arm from afar indicating that we're done. I walked to him and we both left.

"Do you miss it here?" He asked.

"I do but i want to stay in Barcelona where its problem-free" i explained.

He giggled at my response.

20 minutes later we arrived at Lucy's apartment.

"I don't think you should come inside" i looked at him.

"No, im coming." he insisted.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
I could hear Claire's voice through the door saying that it must be me.

She opened the door looking at us weirdly.

"Hi" i said and Neymar waved his arm.

"Just come inside" she said.

We both entered the apartment which looked very different.

The furniture was different and the walls painted a light-gray.

Neymar put our bags on the floor as i saw my mom looking at me from across the hallway.

"Mom.." i stared.

"Lila.."

She quickly ran and hugged me tightly that I couldn't breathe. "Whats wrong?" I asked her curiously.

"Where have you been?" She asked me

"In Barcelona but that doesn't matter now, what's going on with you?"

"Honey, you need to sit down." she said. We both sat down on the couch and Neymar sat next to me.

"Your Father and I are not together anymore" she said.

My eyes widened and my hand started shaking. Neymar held his hand over mine just to comfort me.

"W- why? is it my fault? What did I d-"

"Its not your fault Lila" she said.

"Yes! Yes it is! I never should have left to come here. Oh my God. We need to get back home" i panicked.

"Lila!" I heard my mom yell.

"Are you out of your mind? I told you it was not your damn fault! Your dad and I just had some issues"

"I bet they're all about me" i said quietly.

Neymar's point of view:-

It was time.

Lila has been struggling for the past few days and it has been stressing me out. Her mom is now single and Lila is the only one there for her.

Which just means she has no time for me. I wouldn't say its annoying. its just unusual.

She always told me that growing up, she hasn't been receiving any love from her parents or anyone in general. and her boyfriend Jack, cheated on her which just leaves me, the only one responsible for her.

I don't want to seem like a father to her. i know her father never really cared, but i don't like the idea of being like a father figure to her.

She was sitting on the bed all crawled up with the blanket tugging her while reading a book.

I walked in wanting to talk to her about the situation.

"Lila"

Her face turned and looked at me.

"Yes?"

I took a deep breath. "i want to talk".

Lila's point of view:-

I shivered slightly at the words he spoke. "sure" i got up and sat straight.

He sat down next to me and held my hand tight. "i was thinking and.. i finally made my decision."

"What?" My heart started beating fast out of my chest.

"With your mom being alone and Dan possibly still looking for us, i thought we might need some time alone. away from each other. you understand?"

I cringed at the fact that we might be breaking up.

"W-why?"

"I dont want you to be scared. It's just time apart. for us to think and sort our minds, y'know about your mom and about Dan, just everything. i don't want our relationship to be complicated."

Silence filled the air as he rested his eyes on me. i was looking down at my hands slightly shaking.

"But.. my mom's fine, and most importantly I am alright. we can do this... right?"

"Have you seen her? She's a wreck. and she needs her own daughter to comfort her."he replied.

"But.. im in need for someone to stick by me and help me because i cant stay like this"

He kept staring at me with worried eyes. he them grabbed both my hands tightly.

"I want to do this for you Li, its for you. everything im doing is for you. why? Because you're my only exception" he slightly whispered.

Quickly without hesitation, i pulled his face closer to mine, kissing him full on the lips.

I wanted to feel him one more time before we separate.

He returned the favor and rose his hand up to my waist kissing me back. Slowly but surely, i let go of his wet lips.

"I love you" i whispered.

I woke up to see no sight of Neymar around.

He was gone.

I knew we were gonna separate but i never knew it would be this early. I never knew how much he meant to me until he was gone.

I obviously want him back. He meant the world to me and my focus was only on him. But nothing lasts forever.. right?

It was around 6 pm when my phone buzzed with a message from Lance.

From: Lance
Hey :) heard u were back here in Brazil... i was wondering if we could hang out for a while.. i missed you ..... x

I smiled at the heartwarming words.

To:Lance
Sure :) id love to.

The message was quickly read as i could tell from the big 'R' near my message.

From:Lance
Great! But u might wanna wear a dress..im thinkin about stopping by the night club...u up for that? X

I was slightly confused by the idea of going to a nightclub.

To:Lance
Umm yeah sure whatever :)

From:lance
Great! Pick you up at 8 ;)
