TW - Trans!Denki, dysphoria, NSFW
~~Enjoyy~~Coming to terms with your sexuality was difficult as is. Coming to terms with your sexuality AND gender when you happen to not be cis, however, was a completely new level of difficulty. It was a struggle that Denki knew all too well. He knew what it felt like to not be comfortable in his own skin, in any way, shape, or form. Hell, he hated his quirk for years because he thought that it made something go wrong in his head.
After about 12 or 13 years of struggling with his identity, Denki concluded that he was a transgender, pansexual male. It was quite scary, honestly, when he realized that, seeing as how he lived in a country where simply being gay could have you attacked, jailed, or worse, as well as the fear of his friends and family leaving him in the dust.
Luckily, that hadn't happened. His mother had supported him unconditionally, having already figured out that her child was just not a heterosexual female. Denki's friends, as well, didn't leave him in the dust and stuck by his side as long as possible, providing nothing but support and love. Truly, Denki could not have asked for anything better than that amount of support and love when he had come out.
When he finally became old enough and entered UA, he had already begun T-therapy and had begun his journey to becoming who he knew he was and had changed his pronouns from she/her to he/him and had changed his name legally. Everybody at UA, aside from the teachers who were alerted just for potential health issues, had simply no idea that he was transgender.
Denki was perfectly okay with that, except for when his dysphoria got bad and he needed to pretend like he was "just a little under the weather".
There was one person, though, aside from the teachers, that Denki may or may not have told his secrets to. How could he not, when Hanta was such a good, accepting listener? He never judged, he never disapproved of anything Denki needed comfort with, he never denied giving help, Hanta Sero was simply the best person in the entirety of Class 1-A.
It was no surprise when Denki fell for him. It didn't take him off-guard, it wasn't something that he could brush off his shoulders and forget about, and it wasn't something he wanted to lose. He liked the feeling of being in love, truly he did. Hanta, however not expressive about how he felt toward Denki, made the little blonde feel loved and special and normal and cared for. He liked feeling like that and was honestly okay with staying friends as long as that feeling didn't leave.
Back onto the subject of Denki's dysphoria getting into the way of his happy, content life with nobody knowing he was trans, Hanta was the one to help him out the most with it. Hanta, according to what he had said before, had a very close friend in middle school that had come out as transgender and he would always help her with her dysphoria, so he prided himself on the little bit of experience to help Denki even more. He did everything possible, grabbed nice comfy oversized sweatshirts to give him a little break from wearing binders 24/7, played games with him to distract him, and even let Denki snuggle up with him while he listed off genuine praises.
It was amazing that neither had realized the other had fallen head over heels for each other in the three years they had known each other.
