When Renae had left Keely standing on the sidewalk walking home alone she didn't think anything was going to happen. Only if she knew how wrong she really was. When Renae had gotten out of sight Keely had this weird feeling in her gut but didn't really get bothered by it. Oh I'm just being paranoid, Keely thought to herself. Then when she was about half way home this black car, the one she had been noticing, started following her again. She whipped out her phone quickly and dialed Asher's number. When he answered Keely said, "Asher come meet me please. I am walking home alone in the dark and there's this black car that is following. Just please come meet me."
"Of course I will come meet you Keely. I will do anything for the girl who stole my heart," Asher answered with a smile on his face.
Keely said goodbye and right when she hung up she heard panting behind her. She turned around and saw Asher standing there with the biggest smile on her face. She was so surprised to see him but when she heard him panting she knew he must have sprinted here. She was so happy to see him. She threw her arms around him and felt his muscular arms wrap tightly around her body, but not too tight. When they let go they began walking down the streets. Then Asher grabbed Keelys hand and they walked holding hands for a while until Asher asked, "So Sunshine, are you okay with me calling you that?"
"You can call me that only if I get to call you my Shooting star!" Keely answered with a smile on her face.
"Okay fine, now that we have that all cleared up. Why exactly did your parents install that tracking app? Do they not trust you? Or do they not trust me?" Asher asked with a sad look on his face.
"Well here's the thing, my parents are super protective of me and don't want anything to happen to me. It's all because of my stupid birth parents. Yes, before you ask I am adopted. My birth parents were terrible people and they ruined my whole life. My dad was a child predator. He used my older brother Landon to lure girls to the house to "babysit" him. Then he would take them back to his room and handcuff them to the bed then rape them. It is the most sick thing I have ever heard of. Then worse of all my mother was a drug addict. She even took drugs while she was pregnant with me. The doctors said it was a miracle I came out the way I was, my mother is the complete opposite though. She died while giving birth to me from complications of the birth and from drug overdose. As for the not trusting you part they have no idea I have been talking to you. If they did I would be grounded for life. I just hate my life, I hate my birth parents for being so bad and ruining my life, and I hate my adoptive parents for being so overprotective!" Keely explained.
Keely couldn't believe what she just said to Asher. She hadn't even said all of that to Renae and she was her best friend. She had been holding all of that in for so long and she finally burst. She could feel her tears running down her face. She was glad it was dark out so Asher wouldn't see her cry, she wasn't ready for that yet. She felt Asher squeeze her hand and when she looked at him he said, "Keely I'm sorry that that happened to you. I don't even have words for what you said. I can't even imagine all the pain you have been through. I promise I will never treat you like that, ever. I love you more than you could know. I know that's crazy for me to say because we just started dating but I knew you were the one when I first laid eyes on you. You don't have to tell your parents about us but I want you to know that I'm always here for you no matter what."
At that moment Keely started crying really hard because she couldn't believe that Asher had said all of that about her. She never thought anyone could ever love her so much. Then Something unbelievable happened, Asher kissed her again, the second time in 2 days. He kissed her with so much passion she couldn't believe it. She melted against him and smelled his cologne. She felt the softness of his lips. Then when he let go she shivered. Asher quickly reacted to this and took off his sweatshirt to give to her. She took it from him and put it over her head. It had his scent on it and she loved it.
They walked for 10 more minutes after that holding hands and Keely laying her head on his shoulder. Then it was time for Asher to leave. If they walked any farther together they would be caught on Keelys security cameras and she would be in so much trouble. They hugged and kissed goodbye then Asher ran off in the other direction, his perfect wavy brunette hair bouncing up and down as he ran. After he was off in the distance Keely picked her bag up that she dropped then turned around to finish walking home.
She didn't get very far though. Before she could even get 2 feet away she felt something poke her on the shoulder. She turned around and saw her birth father, the man she absolutely despised. She couldn't make out any of his features but he looked really creepy. Oh no, she thought, my birth father has finally come to get revenge.
Keely tried to tell her legs to move but they wouldn't. It was like her feet were super glued to the cement. She just stood there and stared at her birth fathers face. Then he grabbed her and threw her into his car. She tried to scream but nothing came out, it was like her throat closed up and nothing came out. Her throat was dry as sandpaper. He grabbed her arms and her hair and yanked her into his car. He threw her into the back seat and slammed the door. Then he ran around to the front seat, hopped in and quickly started the car.
After Keely got out of the shock of being thrown around she looked at her surroundings and they were not good. In the back seat where she was there were empty cigarette containers all over the floor. There were also cigarette buds all over. The seats were stained and Keely couldn't tell what it was. She really hoped it wasn't blood. Then Keely made the mistake of looking in the front seat. First she saw the kidnapper, her birth father, and she saw a gun in his hand. Then she noticed someone else in the car. Before Keely could tell who it was her father hit her in the head and knocked her out. The last thing she saw was a boy's face, then everything went black.
She woke up an hour later locked in a sort of cell. It was kind of like a jail cell but way worse. There were no beds in the cell. She was laying on a cement floor which had red stains all over it. Keely knew that it was blood and she didn't even question it. There was a bucket in one corner which she quickly knew it was where previous kids had gone to the bathroom. There was now sink and no way of cleaning yourself. There were no windows where she was, Keely knew from that that she was in a basement. It was also freezing down there. Keely was happy she still had Asher's sweatshirt to keep her warm. Keely found a corner of the cell that wasn't stained red and sat down with her knees to chest and cried.
What seemed like hours later her birth father finally came into the cell. Keely noticed that he was disgusting and didn't take care of himself. His hair was a mixture of gray and brown and was so greasy it was shiny. His eyes were a mixture of yellow and green like a cats. He had a scruffy white beard that had dirt in it. The creepiest part was that when he smiled Keely noticed he was missing teeth. The teeth he had were all yellow and brown, rotting in his mouth like Keely thought she would in this cell. Before Keely could notice anything else about her birth father everything went black, again.
