The trio ran through the halls, trying to escape the boy chasing them. As fun as this sounds, Pascal was chasing them trying to get their numbers. Abby checked then double-checked over her shoulder Pascal had given up, for now. Katie and Tori had also noticed that he had stopped the chase, they go and find Kayley and Irene. As they arrived in the common area, Abby stopped dead in her tracks, Katie and Tori looked at their friends and realized why. A boy no one had seen since the end of grade 5 had returned, Abby had grown to hate him more than she loved her dog. They walk up to the table and greet their friends warmly.
"Riley, why are you here?" Abby scolds.
Riley looks Abby up and down, then turns back to his conversation. You see, when Riley arrived in Strathmore, Abby had crushed on him, everyone thought he liked her back. But it turned out in grade 7, that it was all a lie to prove something stupid. It took a couple of seconds for it to click with Seth, to remember why she was being so rude, but before he could speak Abby was yelling at him.
"Why are you with my friends?"
"I thought I would be welcome here" Riley was being snarky,
"Well you're not, you may have used to have me wrapped around your finger, but I'm not that blind anymore" Abby walked out in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, everyone followed including Riley.
Katie's POV
After my girls and I split up I took control of my anxiety that was tearing me apart, I needed to calm my nerves. The only thing that calms my nerves the best is smoking, I know it's a terrible habit but anything is better than was having a therapist tell me how bad I am at everything. I was nearing the side entrance where the only ashtray was, I was not about to burn the school down. As soon as I got there I lit the cigarette and just pondered life for a bit. I heard a door swing open as I turned my head and saw a guy that looked about the same age as me. He turned the corner he was coming right for me, leather jacket and all. I could see him take what I assumed to be a cigarette pack and take one out.
"can I have a light," he said in a thick an Australian accent
I sat there for a minute weighing my options on what to say when he spoke again
"So can I"
"I-um sure"
"And she speaks" he taunted me, I gave him my lighter and he lit the long cylinder-like thing that could kill him in an instant and put it right in between his teeth and took a deep breath in as I admired his features he had gorgeous green eyes that had little specks of blue and the sharpest jawline I've seen. Just as he caught me staring the warning bell rang. I already knew I would be late so I quickly put the cigarette out and ran to my class. I got there just this time as I sat down next to Abby.
"Where were you, you kind of just disappeared"
"Sorry I had to calm my nerves, but I met this amazing guy"
"Really what's the name"
"I don't know"
"So, you're telling me, you met a guy, and don't even know his name"
"yes, anyway where's Tori"
"Oh Tori, the teacher needed her to get something"
"Ok cool"
After a few minutes or so, Tori came back with some papers and handed them to the teacher. We were finishing up some work when there was a knock at the classroom door. The guy walked in the one with the gorgeous green eyes that had blue specks in them. Mystery Man walked to the teacher and talked to her for a few minutes then the teacher got up and introduced him to the class.
