The sun was setting when I took Snowball for a walk. Until, she decided to run into the forest right next to the house. Just as the sky was getting dark. Damn.

I went into the forest, and picked up Snowball. Once I looked up, I was staring into the golden eyes of a huge gray wolf. He glared at me, showing his clenched sharp teeth. I slowly backed away, and ran to the side of the house.

Just as I opened the door, the wolf was getting closer. I slammed it, and ran from the kitchen to the closet in my bedroom. Snowball barked and growled the whole time.

"Hush, before the wolf finds us." I whispered, gently pressing my hand on her little head.

She went quiet real quick. My heart raced when I heard heavy footsteps outside my room. It suddenly got hotter in here. I backed up against the wall.

When my bedroom door slammed against the wall, I almost held my breath. Snowball snuggled up against my cleavage. If we weren't in danger, I'd be touched.

"I know you're in here. I can smell you," The wolf said.

He stuck his head in the closet, sniffing my legs. He stared into eyes again. I stood up and walked out of the closet. The doorbell rang. I ran out to the front door and yanked it open. Axel caught me in his arms.

"What's wrong?"

"He's chasing me!" I yelled.

The wolf approached the doorway, growling. Axel finally let go of me. I ran to the side of the porch. He pulled a gun out of his pocket and aimed it at the wolf's head. As soon as he moved, Axel pulled the trigger. A dart landed in the wolf's head, and knocked him out.

"You alright?" Axel asked.

I let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah."

"Get back in the house. You're safe now."

He lifted the wolf, and carried him down the stairs to the driveway. I went back inside, closing the front door behind me. Snowball practically jumped from my arms, and ran into Grandma's room. Grandma was under her white covers, sleeping peacefully.

At least, she was okay. I tiptoed to the kitchen. The door was wide open, and somehow not broken. I quietly closed it and poured myself a glass of Rosè. The first sip calmed me. Just like the silence in here.
