Why did you skip disposable teens
"Why did I skip the song?" She asked.
"Yes." He said while looking at the ground.
"Well, the title. My parents had to give me away because they couldn't afford to look after me and the song made me question wether I was a disposable teen to them." Amanda said as she started to tear up.
"Oh darling. Don't think like that. Your parents love you very much." Brain said whole comforting Amanda.
"I hope so."
Amanda didn't want to tell Marilyn that she was actually on her way to meet her real family.
"Well I know my words don't mean much but I support you and I'm here for you." He exclaimed.
"Your words mean a lot Brian."
"It's no worries."
As it grew later into the night, Amanda began to get tired. She was just listening to some books but then all of a sudden she was fast asleep. On brains shoulder. Brain looked down as Amanda softly laid her head on his shoulder. It made Brian feel special. He gave her a smile and started to feel asleep himself. It was 7.00pm when Amanda got onto the train and it was now 1.00am in the morning. They had been on the plane for 6 hours now and they only had 9 hours left until they reached Australia.
Later that morning.
It was now 7.00am in the morning and the two were starting to wake up. Amanda looked across and Brian to see that she had indeed fallen asleep on his shoulder.
"Oh, uh...sorry." Amanda said while embarrassed.
"Oh it's no worries." Brian said with a genuine smile.
"So can I ask you....why are you going to Australia?" Amanda asked.
"Me? Well. I need a new start. I love what I do in America and my family is in America and stuff but I want to make the move." Brain explained.
"Fair enough. Will you know anyone?" She asked.
"Some distant family and a few friends. I'll know you of course." Brain said.
Saying that seemed to make Brian smile. It made Amanda smile too. Brain was the first person in ages that Amanda felt like she could actually comfortably talk too. There was a noticeable connection between the two of them. Breakfast came around and once again Brain was more then happy to pay for Amanda. She wanted to turn his offer down but Brian insisted. The two ate their breakfast and talked. Then all of a sudden the top of music was brought up.
"So what do you listen too?" Amanda asked.
"Well I do like my fair share of metal and rock. And you?"
"Well. I like pop but I also like trying new types of music, you know?" Amanda exclaimed.
"Yeah. I get it. Music is very important to me"." Marilyn said with a serious look.
"How come? Does it get you through tough times like it does for me?" Amanda asked.
"Something like that. I need to use the rest room so I'll be back." Brain said.
And with that Brain made his way to the restroom. He was taking a while. Amanda assumed that he might of...yanno. She minded her business until she spotted a black book slid into the gap of Brian's seat. Amanda wanted to know what was inside but she didn't want to invade Brains privacy either. She slid the book out form between the chair and held it in her hands.
'MM' it read.
"MM. What could that mean?" Amanda asked herself.
She began slowly opening the book and flicking through. She could tell it wasn't a diary but she didn't know what. As she began to flick though she realised that all of it was songs.
"He writes songs? Maybe that's what he meant by music is very important to him." Amanda said to herself.
Then all of a sudden Amanda came up to a song called 'Tattoos In Reverse'. She had heard that name before but she didn't know where. As she continued reading she heard the restroom door click open so she quickly slid the book back between the seat and pretended to be scrolling through Instagram. Brain sat back down next to Amanda.
"Hey. Are you ok?" Amanda asked.
Brian had been crying. You could see it in his eyes. You could see streaks down his face where his tears had run.
"Yes, yes. I'm fine." He said not very convincingly.
Amanda wasn't truely convinced but she didn't want to annoy him and she thought that if something was really wrong then he would come to her. Amanda wanted to know though. What did 'MM' mean? So she decided to ask him.
"Hey...Brian?"
"Yes hun?"
"What does MM mean?"
"Marilyn Manson."
