I got home as I thanked our driver and hopped out of the car.
I walked to our front door and opened it.
Of course, I was welcomed with no one since I know mom isn't home until 7 in the evening.
I sighed and closed the door, not forgetting to lock it after.
I put my sling bag on the couch and sat down first while getting the remote.

I was making the scrambled eggs and cooking the fried chicken when I heard the front door open.
I knew it was mom since I heard her.
"Ma! Nandito ako sa kitchen!"
(Mom! I'm here in the kitchen!)
I heard her footsteps come here.
"Hi dear. Wow, ikaw magluluto ngayon?"
(Hi dear. Wow, are you cooking today?)
I nodded and put the 5 pieces of chicken on the plate.
"Yep. By the way mom, may meeting tomorrow ng buong student council. Ma-lalate ata ako ng uwi. Mga 5 uwi ko, ma."
(Yep. By the way mom, me and the whole student council have a meeting tomorrow. I think I would come home late. Maybe at 5 mom.)
I informed as she nodded.

Me and mom were chatting while eating.
"Althea?"
"Yeah mom?"
"I actually wanted to tell you about something."
"What is it? Is something bothering you?"
I said while taking a sip of my iced tea.
"Well, nag-propose si Jay sa akin kanina.."
(Well, Jake proposed to me a while ago..)
Silence took over my room except my for dropping to the floor out of shock.
"Propose.. Jay.. OMG!" I squealed like a 16 year old getting her first boyfriend.
"Yessssss!! So, kailan kasal ma?"
(Yessssss!! So, when's the wedding mom?)
I jokingly asked. "Hindi ko alam kung magugustuhan mo ito nak, pero sa March 11 ang plano namin.."
(I don't know if you would like this dear, but we planned it on March 11.)
Once again, silence took over the whole dining room with my mouth wide open ready to eat a fly maybe.
"OMG! YESSSS! It's 2 days before my birthdayyyy!" I clapped happily and danced weirdly.
