Hi there, my name is James, and I've lived a pretty normal life up untill now. I go to an average school, my grades are decent and in general my life isn't too exciting. I'm as middle-of-the-road as you could possibly get, but I honestly never really minded that. I am perfectly happy with my admittedly uneventful life, and I wouldn't have it any other way..... at least, that was until one very fateful day, one where everything would change, for better or for worse.

....How was that? As cliché and uninspired as they come, right? Well whoop-de-doo, welcome my life, that of the most boring person to ever live. Without any exaggerations, all my life really boils down to is just mindlessly following the path that my parents have laid out for me, nothing more, nothing less. It really is that mind-numbing.

And speaking of my parents, they mostly are to blame for my life being as dull as it is, deciding by themselves what things I would be allowed to do while disregarding everything else. I wasn't even allowed to join something like baseball when I was younger because they thought it's "for the hooligans who love swinging sticks". Yeah, as if that's all there is to it.

So given that something as harmless as baseball was deemed "unacceptable", it should come as no surprise that it also meant the same for the hundreds of Pokemon that make our natural way of life as wonderful as it is. This easily was the most devastating, because Pokemon always had the amazing ability to bring so much joy and color to one's life, with them being able to fulfill any role that was required of them to anyone who needed them.

But no, it would be too good to be true for me to have some of that as well, wouldn't it? So my "amazing" parents were kind enough to disallow me of having them without even thinking about it. I guess almost like a defense mechanism, I began avoiding getting attached to Pokemon in any shape or form, so that I wouldn't be crushed if I would ever get close to one, because that was guaranteed to happen.

As such, Ive mostly been singing the same tired old song day in, day out, and it doesn't seem like that's going to change any time soon... well, at the very least, there is one thing that I've got to show for it: a lake. It is located quite deep within a forest at the edge of town and it takes a good while to get there even if you know the way, so not many people ever happen to stubble upon it or know that it exists.

Which is quite a shame honestly, because it really cannot be understated just how beautiful it is. Alongside the fact that it's relatively human-free thanks to it being in a more isolated location, it had preserved a lot of the beauty that was bestowed upon it by Mother Nature, which made it just so naturally beautiful, especially during sunset. It really is a sight to behold to see the sun's light coat the whole lakeside in a warm orange glow as it descends underneath the horizon.

Unfortunately, that same beautiful sight also signaled the end of my stay here, since not coming home late happened to be one of the more reasonable rules made by my parents. I always found it the bittersweet part of the day, having to say goodbye to the lake when it is at it's most stunning. But hey, it is nothing worth crying over, seeing as tomorrow will be another day that i get to spend here and another chance i get to admire this sunset.....although, it might be nice to share this view with someone once....

"........Pika....."

.....wait, what did i just hear?
