"So, what is such a lovely girl doing this fine morning?" the lip bearing boy said.

I frowned at the thought of the argument, "Well...my friend and I had...a disagreement of sorts and I'm on my way to a bookstore to buy her an 'im sorry' present."

Luke suggested to walk with me, and I couldn't say no. This guy is unbelievable, first he talks to me nicely, then offers to walk to a bookstore? I made a note to myself to congratulate his mother on raising such a gentleman.

After a while of talking and laughing, we headed up to a nearby park and chose to sit on a bench near the shade.

"Thank you," I stated as I began to stand up.

Luke wore a confused expression, "For what?"

"For not being a jack-ass like most guys," I clarified.

"It was lovely getting to know you princess," he chuckled, "we should do this again sometime."

A smiled covered my face, "I would love that, I'll give you my number."

I was fairly surprised at myself for making a move. He handed me his phone and I quickly typed the digits.

"Well, I better get going to Eloise," I said.

As soon as I was beginning to leave he suggested walking me to my apartment. He definitely wasn't a murderer so I was delighted to say yes.

We were leaving when I voice came out of nowhere and someone came running in our direction, "Layla? Luke? What are you two doing? Layla, I know you dig me, but are you stalking me?"

Turning around I saw Calum. We definitely needed to stop these freaky coincidences.

I started to fake cough, "Oh, I'm sorry I think I'm choking on your bullshit."

Calum must've gotten used to my comebacks because he quickly recovered, "That's not the only thing you'll be choking on tonight."

I rolled my eyes, I tended to do that a lot around him. He was just so irritating most of the time.

Luke had a puzzled look on his face. He didn't need to say anything, I knew what he must've been thinking.

"We met at the mall. How do you know Calum?"

Luke raised his eyebrows at the word mall, "Wait...she's the girl from the mall?"

"We're best friends," Calum answered my question while completely ignoring Luke's.

I pretended ignore Calum's existence, "Well, I think I'll get going."

Knowing I needed a final push to piss him off even more, I sent Luke a flirtatious smile.

"Call me sometime."

I strutted off to my apartment. As soon as I got there I gave Eloise the gift and sincerely apologized.

The rest of the day was spent indoors, watching netflix and eating popcorn. Eloise and I even baked cookies and gossiped. One of the many things I loved about Eloise, we could fight but we always made up.

As we were fooling around and laughing when we heard the doorbell ring.
