(Cass's P.O.V)
If I wasn't twisting the necklace Jack had given me I was clinging into the note he had left me. I felt so betrayed but I couldn't find it within myself to be angry at him, after all I would have done the same thing. Luke was busy trying to search for him with his powers while Jodie and Vic tried to comfort me but I didn't hear a single word they were saying to me. As far as I knew Jack could be dead and that would be the end of me. Jack was my rock. He kept me grounded when I felt as if I was spiralling out of control and if I lost him . . .
Finally the anger awakened but it wasn't for what Jack had done, it was for Savannah. If she has killed him then I would tear her limb from limb. I would set her on fire, I would do everything I could to kill her. Luke swore and I quickly jumped to my feet. Jodie reached out to touch me but I swatted her hand away. Luke opened his eyes and I could see a pained expression on his face. My heart pounded in my chest. Fear and anger fought for dominance as I staggered towards Luke. Was Jack alive or was he dead? Had Savannah contacted him? I had to know!
"What?" I gasped.
"Savannah just sent me a message saying she's dropping your father off in the morning," Luke replied.
"Did she say anything about Jack?" I asked.
Luke shook his head and my heart broke. I tossed the note to the ground and stormed towards my room. I kept the door open because I knew that the others would only follow me in. I grabbed my demon killing knife and tossed it into my backpack that was already filled with things I may need. A hand landed on my shoulder and I shook it away as I rose to my feet. I spun around to find Luke standing behind me with a grim expression.
"Going to her is exactly what she wants," Luke said.
"I just can't sit here and wait for her," I replied. "It could be too late to save Jack."
I went to slip past Luke but he grabbed me. "How do you know that you aren't already too late?"
"I can't afford to think that way," I whispered.
I knew that there was a chance that Jack could already be dead but I had to live on the hope that he was alive. That if I were to find Savannah that I could find Jack with her. I yanked my arm out of Luke's grip and marched out of the room and towards the front door.
"You don't even know where to find him," Luke pointed out.
Vic and Jodie looked up at the sound of my approach. I choose to ignore Luke as I made my way to the front door. He grabbed me again and pushed me gently away from the door.
"I just can't sit here," I said for the second time. "I may be a dragon but my brain is wired like a Hunter's. I know that I could be walking straight into a trap but my job as both a dragon and a Hunter entitles me to protect the innocent and right now Jack is an innocent."
"Just wait until Savannah drops your father off," Luke pleaded.
I shook my head. "I can't."
I slipped past Luke and slammed the door open before he could stop me again. I sprinted down the hallway towards the elevator and I was aware of footsteps trailing behind me. I peered over my shoulder to see Jodie and Vic following me with excited expressions.
"What are you doing?" I hissed.
"It's been so long since we've hunted," Vic replied. "We're coming with you."
"I also know where we can find Savannah," Jodie added.
I led Vic and Jodie to my precious Camaro and we climbed inside. I would have run but it would be better if we took the car. I followed Jodie's directions and we soon pulled up in front of a classy hotel. My heart thudded in my chest as Jodie and I waited for Vic to sweet-talk the receptionist at the counter. The only way we could get to Savannah's room was with a key card we would have to use to swipe in the elevator so that we could reach the penthouse.
