Bethany's Pov.
My cave doesn't nessisaraly have an entrance into it. There is just a bunch of holes leading to different places. But I consider the hole coming out of the mountain with a path to the garden and a path across the river to the woods the main entrance.Along the path to the garden is cactus with a stone wall and fence against the path. The stone fence turns into a wall, protecting the garden from critters.
Every time I hear the noises from the woods, I'm usually in the garden collecting carrots and potatoes for stew.Inside the garden are a few plants. Mainly just 3 rows of carrots and a reaf made out of leaves and vines for potatoes. But, I plan on making a garden at least half or 1/4 of the mountain long.
I've been trying to read a book about plants and where to find them. I found the book when I was sitting under the Great Oak Tree writing in my journal that I found in the cave.
Thanks to the book, I found the potatoes by a small pool of water and the carrots by rose bushes and an abandoned rabbit den.
The leaves I cut off with brown camouflage cased knife. The blade of the knife looked almost new silver and I've cut my fingers plenty of times with it to know how sharp it is. Then used vines and to tie them together.
I learned to mix up the dirt using sticks and make a hole using my shovel made out of a stick with no bark and smelted copper for the head of the shovel.
It takes 2 months for the potatoes to grow and it takes the carrots 1 month, because of the location.I've only ever seen and used Oak, Birch Dogwood, Spruce, and pine trees, wood, and leaves for shelf or fires, sometimes building. But I usually keep left overs stacked against a wall my my storage room and my split wood goes next to the fire place.
I made my axe of a stick with no bark and iron I flattened and sharpened with a rock. I then tied the flattened iron and stick together using vines and sea pickle goo.
My pickaxe is made out of a stick with no bark and a black stone I found next to a pool of water in a cave attached to my mine. The black stone felt like it was polished almost, so every time I see it I just think..."Found more polished black stone."
I've seen berry bushes in the woods and by the pine trees, but I never checked to see if they were poisonous or not. But at least one bush has to be not poisonous. If so I will make jam, sauce, and maybe a fruit salad if I get another fruit.
I keep the left over foods in a hole on the wall with a Spruce door on it to keep it cold. Any foods that don't need to stay cold, I put in the selves carved in the walls. While the sugar, salt, and bread, I put on the wooden shelves.
Whenever a critter trys eating stuff out of my garden, I'm not a monster and just kill them. I put them in a basket or im my backpack and take them far from my cave then leave them there with a carrot, potato or 2 of each. It was mainly raccoons, possums, armadillos, or rabbits I would find.
