It has been two days since the small argument in the common room with Hermione, Ron, and I, I haven't been spending all too much time with them. Ron and I were okay, we get along really well. But Hermione is quite stubborn, and it doesn't help that I am also.
Over the last few days, I have been getting closer with Aspen, and the closer we got, the more we realised we had in common.
We had just finished our history of magics class and it was the end of the day. For the rest of the time we had before supper, Aspen and I had decided we would go to the library to get some last-minute homework done. It was barbaric how much homework we have been assigned, I mean – its only our first week and it feels like we have gotten a months' worth of work given to us.
"Aspen, who's he? He's cute!" I whispered as I peered over to the first year Slytherin that just walked past us.
"That's Blaise Zabini. All the girls in Slytherin have taken a liking to him".
I turned around to get a last look at him. As I was about to turn back around to Aspen, Blaise turns to me and winks. I halted as I felt my cheeks go red and my stomach do a flip.
Aspen took a few more steps forward before she noticed I wasn't next to her anymore, she looked around and furrowed her eyebrows at me "Amelia are yiu alright?"
My eyes were still wide as I choked up what I needed to say "Oh my... Did, did you see that?"
"See what?" Aspen questioned, looking around to see if she had missed anything interesting.
"Blaise, he just winked at me".
Aspen laughed "Oh, no I didn't sorry. Amelia, you're going all red, have you already fallen for him?"
"No, he's just cute".
"well, if he's just cute.. why don't you go talk to him".
"Absolutely not, I would completely embarrass myself. Besides, he was with Malfoy."
"He's actually easy going, much easier than Malfoy.. you've just got to get him when he's not with him."

It was supper. I was sitting beside Ron and Harry, whilst Hermione had sat with some other Gryffindor's. I couldn't help but peak over to the Slytherin every now and then.
As I was going for my 6th peak of the night, Aspen looked up at me and giggled. I has a feeling she knew exactly what I was looking her way for.
She turned to Blaise who was sat next to her and whispered something. Shortly after Blaise looked up at me and smiled the most beautiful smile I had laid my eyes on.
"Amelia, are you even listening?" I turned back to Harry and Ron.
"I- sorry, I just, thought I saw something".
"As I was saying" stated Harry "we found a trapped door, in the third corridor and"
"The third corridor, what were you doing up there, I didn't think we were allowed in that area?"
"doesn't matter, and there was a three headed dog; can you believe it? We think it's guarding the philosopher's stone".
"The what?" I was getting lost at what Harry was trying to explain to me, part of the reason was because my thoughts were preoccupied by a certain Slytherin.
"It's a stone that makes you immortal, we think Snape is after it".
"why would Snape be after it?" I looked back at the trio after my 11th glance.
"To be immortal? I don't know, but I don't have a good feeling about him, he's been very... odd since the start of the year."
"Alright well you three can go to this 'hole, trap door' whatever it is, I'll be right here cheering you on". I motioned my hands towards them before crossing my arms, there was no way I'd be going with them, not when Snape is going to be 3 steps behind them after the same thing.
"You mean to say you're not coming with us?" Ron looked up and asked with a half – eating chicken leg in his mouth.
"Of course not, bold of you to assume I would be".
Harry turned around to face me completely. "Amelia, you have to come, the more of us there are the better chance we have of beating Snape to it".
"Why don't you take... Neville with you?" I pointed in the direction of Neville and the four of us see him sitting with a horribly confused expression looking towards one of the tapestries on the wall.
"You're kidding right, as great as Neville is, I don't think he's the right person to come with us".
Ron looked over at Hermione to see that she wasn't paying attention to us before bending down towards my ear and whispering, "maybe she'll finally forgive you if you help". I glared at him before surrendering.
"Fine I'll come, but if I die it's on you."

Hermione had spent the rest of the evening in the library reading on the philosopher's stone. Shortly after the four of us sat in the common room waiting for the last few 6th years to go to their dormitories before discussing how we were going to approach this disaster of a situation we had. It was late, but we couldn't let anyone hear us.
"We need to figure out how we can get past the dog, while it's there, we don't stand a chance" Hermione was pacing back and forth before the fireplace looking at the ground, while the rest of us sat on the red velvet lounge chairs watching her take charge. "Who do we know that could help us get rid of the dog?"
"ughh, Dumbledore?" Suggested Ron.
"Genius idea Ronald". I turned to Ron "Lets get the Headmaster in on the situation and help us obtain this hidden artifact".
"Well did you have a better idea?!"
"Yeah! Hagrid perhaps!'
"Wait that's a great idea!" Hermione had finally stopped pacing before facing me. "Hagrid is known to be educated in animals, I'm sure he'll know enough about the dog to help us".

"Ion know nothin' 'bout nothin'" lied Hagrid as he poured tea from his stovetop kettle into a teacup.
"Come on Hagrid, you must know something!" Exclaimed Hermione as she slumped onto one of Hagrid's wooden log seats.
It was the next night, a Saturday night to be more precise. We had ventured to Hagrid's hut, which sits just outside of Hogwarts' grounds. It was a small cosy cottage home, not much bigger than the living room in my suburban home.
"How d'you even know about fluffy?" Questioned Hagrid.
"Fluffy? That big three headed monster is called Fluffy?" I looked at Hagrid completely baffled at what I had heard.
"He's no monster I tell yah, he's just a puppy."
"We need to get to the Philosopher's stone before Snape does, we know he is after it" Harry intervened in quite the serious matter, the four of us turning towards him, I nod in agreement turning to Hagrid.
"Oh, don't tell meh you lot'r still suspicious of 'im, Snape's guardin' it yah see. Oh dear I've said too much."
"Snapes guarding it? But he's after it, why would he be guarding it, who from?" Questioned Hermione.
"I'm not tellin' yah more than I already have." Settled Hagrid.
I walked towards the table at which sat Hermione and Hagrid. "Fluffy's quite the animal Hagrid, well raised, looks good" I praised.
"oh isn't he just the sweetest, especially when yah play music 'n' he lays peacefully asleep, such a good boy he is." I smirked at Harry as Hagrid gave us all the information we needed. "oh dear I done it again". Before we could say more we heard a noise coming from the back window.
"Malfoy" Harry and I sighed in annoyance simultaneously.
