MIRROR OF ERISED

"Potter, we keep meeting" Pansy said

"What are you doin here?" Harry asked looking suspiciously at her

"I could say the same about you" Pansy countered

Harry looked at her and said-"I was looking at the restricted section...about the philosophers stone" Harry had trusted the girl with the information

"You could've just asked me you know" Pansy chuckled

"Oh? So you do know something about that...Is Snape trying to steal the stone?" Harry asked

Pansy laughed, Potter is truly tactless "You seemed convince that he is in fact trying to steal the stone" Pansy said cryptically

"Just tell me" Harry groaned impatient

"My gosh Potter" Pansy laughed looking back at the mirror where Anastasia was looking back at her

"What are yo-my parents! Why are you looking at my parents?" Harry asked confused

"Is that what you see Potter?" Pansy asked even though she knew it full well

"Is that not what you see?" Harry asked and Pansy had just shook her head

"What is this mirror anyways" Harry asked once again not taking his eye of the mirror

"Its the mirror of Erised...it shows us not what we see but what we desire" Pansy said as Anastasia was still staring at her

"That's right ms. Parkinson" A voice said from behind them, Pansy and Harry had gasped at the sight of Albus Dumbledore-Harry because he was caught and Pansy because she knew Dumbledore is not suppose to show up the first time Harry had found the mirror

What changed?

"Sir!" They exclaimed

"Do not fret, you two are not in trouble at least a big one" Dumbledore's eyes twinkled

"Oh..." Harry said while Pansy had just stared speechless

"This mirror...sir does it show the future? I mean it couldn't have since my parents are dead" Harry sadly said

Pansy had mentally scoffed, had he missed her explanation about the mirror just a while ago?

"No, its what like ms. Parkinson said Harry, it shows us not what we see but what we desire. Tell me why does the happiest man alive sees himself in this mirror of desire?" Albus said

"Because he desires nothing... at least nothing he could think of as of now" Pansy quietly said

"And why do you say so?" Albus asked intrigued

"Sir, is desire not part of human nature? I mean no human can simply live without any desire....some way or another the man would desire something or maybe the happiest man alive is a scam, perhaps he was lonely deep inside despite the happy façade and his desire was to be the happiest man that lived" Pansy said
