Chapter 12

Sydney's POV

I ran upstairs and locked my door. Thank god Sky wasn't in there. She'd ask too many questions, don't judge, but when I get embarrassed or stressed I cry. I sobbed. And heard a knock at my door. Hayes probably thinks I'm a freak to ever believe that I had a chance with him. My life is over. 😭😭😭

"Who is it?" I said quietly

"It's Hayes."

"Go away. I already know what you're gonna say, I know I'm not good enough for you and I'm not as good as Sky and everyone is always comparing me to her. I know it's her you want. She's way prettier than me and if it's her you want then take it out with your friend Matthew."

"I don't want her. You're a lot prettier than her. And you know what's funny? I get fuzzy, and I get sappy when we are together. Just like you. On the rare occasions when I'm not here, or not with you, I'm thinking about you. And every time I leave your house, I say that I swear this girl will be the death of me."

I walked over to the door, and opened it. I had to look up because he towers over me at a height of 5'10. He wiped the tears streaming down my face and kissed the top of my head.

"Would you like to go out with me?"

Skylar's POV

I was sitting there on the couch with Matthew. I was texting Sydney (who was upstairs) about her and Hayes. Me and Matt were also joking with each other and texting from different couches.

To Sky from Syd😜- I'm so happy 😊😊😊😊

To Syd from Sky- I'm so happy for you 😘

To Sky from Syd- yea. Now we just gotta work on you and Matt

To Matt💍💕 from Sky- Yea. But I'm pretty sure that Matt doesn't feel the same way. There are so many prettier girls everywhere he goes. Why would he choose me?

And then I pressed send. I just saw Matt look up and his jaw dropped. I looked and down at my phone and realized that I accidentally sent it to Matt. Oh Lordy.

Matthew's POV

"Sky-" GCO

She got up and went into the bathroom. I was just about to fess up about my crush too. Ughhhhhh

It was silent. I knocked on the door and I heard a shaky "I-I'm almost d-done." She said trying to sound as normal as possible. I opened the door and I saw her on the floor in a little ball. Not crying just staring into space and shaking. She really didn't look good and was freaking out. She was having panic attack. Tears formed in her eyes and it was it hard for her to breath.

"SKY! SKY! BREATH! IN, OUT, IN, OUT! "

She did as she was instructed to do and it passed. She hugged me tightly and cried into my chest. I wonder what caused that. We sat there until she stopped crying like 5 mins later. She finally thanked me and stood up. We walked into her room and she sat on her bed. She finally started talking

"I'm really sorry that happened. It only happens when I'm stressed or overwhelmed-" GCO

"Skylar. It's okay! I'm just happy I was there to help. And I wanted you to know that I feel the same way! I like you Sky, a lot. And I was wondering if you wanna go on a date with me sometime?"

"Of course! Thank you so much!" She came and hugged me

"Can I ask you something?"

"Anything."

"What caused you to start having panic attacks?"

"When my mom left us."
