As we were eating our delicious breakfast that consisted of pancakes and orange juice, we heard the front door slam open.

"Anthony! Come downstairs right fucking now!"

I look up just in time for Damon and I immediately started fake gagging when Damon sat there with Dylan next to him. Pure rage filled Damon's face, whilst Dylan looked a bit worried. Damon's fists were clenched and he was looking, glaring actually, right at me.

"You- you- you bitch," he stammered, "Do you know what kind of trouble you've gotten us into?"

"No," I said with a mouthful of pancakes, not really caring what he's going on about.

I heard footsteps nearing towards us and I could guess who was coming in the kitchen. I quickly chewed my food and swallowed it, I started slapping my chest to stop my quick heartbeat. I put my hair behind my ears and stuck my tongue out at Damon. Damon's jaw visibly clenched and he glared right at me while Anthony looked right at him with an eyebrow raised.

"You little-"

"Refrain from disrespecting another member. Both of you."

"But she-"

"Why are you even creating racket in the house this early?"

He was quick to reach into the inside pocket of his coat and unfold a paper. He handed it to Anthony who was reading it over with his eyebrows furrowed, his lips set into a thin line. He glanced at me and gave me the paper. "Okay."

"Okay? This is trouble for us."

I tuned them out while reading the paper.

Underneath that was the picture of me from my ID card. Well shit.

I handed Anthony the paper and my cold hand brushed against his warm hand. It felt inviting, I wanted to hold his hand. My face felt warm and my heartbeat sped up. How the fuck does one guys hand make me feel this way. I shook my head and ignored it, stupid me.

Dylan spoke up for the first time looking relaxed, "Calm down, Damon. If Boss is calm, then we should all be fine, he always has a plan."

"Yeah right, this bitch has him wrapped around her finger. All she does is cause problems for us. She's useless and pathetic."

My breath hitched and I froze. My vision got blurry and everything suddenly went dark.

"You useless fucking bitch! I asked you to get me beer and you couldn't even do that shit!" Kick after kick. Punch after punch. Hit after hit. Pain. An empty bottle that previously held alcohol missed me and all the shards spread out near me.

I curled up on the floor to somewhat protect myself. It hurt so much. "I'm sorry." I kept repeating it.

"Keith isn't here to protect you now, right." A dark chuckle escaped him, I was going to die today.

"Pathetic. No wonder why you get bullied at school. You disgusting bitch."

"Everything's going to be better once you die. I'll make sure you do."

I looked to see him grab a glass shard, I couldn't move. I was in so much pain, everything hurt. I felt him put a tight grip on my hair and I screamed so loud. Suddenly, the front door slammed open. I saw Keith push him back and I heard him dial a number while he sat next to my body.

"Vee! Wake up! Wake up!" His voice was so close, yet so far. I slowly lost connection with the thread that kept me alive and I slipped into darkness once again.

"Wake up, Vee!" I felt someone shake me awake.

I opened my eyes. What just happened? My vision was blurry and I rubbed my eyes to see more clearly, my face was wet with tears.

"Kee..." He shushed me and held me while I cried.

After a while of crying my eyes out, he finally said something, "They're back, aren't they?"

He took my silence as the answer that we both hoped wasn't true. The past that I was slowly running away from was catching up.
